Now let's stop with this "A COIN FLIP IS 50/50" nonsense.
Hate to spoil this, but if called in the air, it doesn't matter. Still 50-50. You can "manipulate" it all you want, but unless I call it beforehand, it makes no difference.
Back in the early 90's a "pool enthusiast" in the Midwest lost a considerable amount with that same logic. And yes, he got to call it in the air. He was also getting 6 to 5 on the $$$.

But, feel free to believe whatever you'd like. We can agree to disagree. :D

If Bucktooth goes to the DCC he does not flip Coins but he will Roll the ball with any and all people and he doesn't run and hide like FAT BOY for $300 a roll even Cliff played. If Bucktooth plays any GAME he always opens the the $100 window and you can BET ALL YOU WANT..... This means everybody in the Building just like when he played Allen at the Trop years ago and Ronnie Allen.

Here we go again....

I would say most of you people never herd of a guy called the Flipper he BUSTED every stock GUY ON THE PACIFIC COAST STOCK EXCHANGE he would call it in the air and lay odds on the money.... So why on earth would Bucktooth be a moron flip a coin with anyone. I consider Bucktooth a little smart not an apple head like some people.

There have been many dozens of pool tournaments held in casinos over the years. Extra curricular gambling on pool games has very rarely been a problem. The powers that be know these same players/gamblers will be visiting the casino as well. And blowing lots of cash!
Right on, the casinos know that if two guys are gambling one of them is gonna win something and theres a good chance they could get some of that money from them. Hell, its almost in the casinos best interest if people do gamble with one another. When people are playing for thousands and thousands of dollars on the pool tbale they are betting on something they think they have a pretty good chance of winning, players or backers might lose 5,10,or20K playing pool but would probabbly not do so in the casino so its not really like anything is being taken away from them.

Funny you should say that. Maybe you should re-read one of your posts from another thread...
Finished reading? Good.

Now let's stop with this "A COIN FLIP IS 50/50" nonsense.

You never miss an opportunity to tell us how smart you are, so it's more than fair to believe that you're going to (at least in your mind) have the best of any bet you make. I won't publically "out" the coin-flip guy either, since he now runs a legitimate business, but rest assured you're not the only one who knows who it is.

Sounds like more hot air to me.

please find me, then i would love to hear what you have to say and see what your made of...

That's a fact, Jack -- I mean Jay! :D

Those men in suits will appear out of nowhere when they see extracurricular activities going on that the casino cannot benefit from. :embarrassed2:

One thing that separates you, Jay, from all the rest is your never-ending capability to disseminate pool wisdom, strategies, and factoids. It is this kind of character, if I may use that word, that deserves a great deal of appreciation in the pool world. It doesn't have anything to do with money; rather, it's called respect. Well-deserved respect too, I might add!

Just get it over with.......

Put up 50k or 100k, Fats and the Tooth, and get it over with...

Fats just go buy a board and be ready.. Then put up the cash and play an all around for the winner..

This stupid Keno, Pool and flip coins.. Who ever comes out ahead in score after the 3 rounds wins the cash..

or hell, Fats I'll be your partner playing pool.. Get tooth a partner and we can play them some scotch doubles. I got a few people you know that can vouch for me on being straight up.

As in you don't have to worry about me throwin you in the river playin doubles.

Thanks,
Josh Hillard

I am going to make a prediction and BET that the wide open gambling gets shut down this year at DCC. The casinos do not want to have people gambling on anything OTHER than their games. I will bet a NICE dinner that we hear some story about the casino shutting down the ACTION room or severely subduing it.

I have seriousl doubts about the the DCC being good for gambling matchese when it's held in a casino. Having been to the BCA and VNEA and APA for many years I found that very rarely is it like the Pit in Valley Forge or the Action Room at DCC.

One year at VNEA it was like that for a while but never since.

Casinos just drain all the money. Of course it could go the other way and some pool player hits it big on blackjack and gives the world action on the pool table.
There are different type of people of the pool world that go the BCA or VNEA. Most aren't gamblers so the action is much lighter - not because the casino blocks it. At the DCC, many more of the players are known gamblers.

Very well said, John, as usual! :)

One year, we were attending the Joss event at the $25,000 Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY.

What makes this place unique, as it pertains to casinos, is that it's the "only game in town," so to speak. There are no shopping malls, other casinos, or places nearby for one to spend their money. The closest pool room is a 30-to-45-minute drive from the Turning Stone.

This casino does not allow pool players to gamble on the pool tables located in the tournament room after the tournament rounds conclude.

In fact, the majority of pool players who enjoy action were seen in the poker room, as well as the table games. Efren Reyes was hanging out on the dice table between some of his matches one year, as were quite a few of my friends as well!

Casinos are bad news when it comes to action on a field of green; that is, unless the field of green is a craps table. :grin-square:

The hotel is several hundred yards from the casino and not attached. I wonder if the location of the tournament is in the casino building or hotel.

I did not know that. That is a very good question, one worth finding out the answer to for sure!

I went to the APA in Vegas this year with a group of friends. I dont play league but wanted to go gamble. I saw several go off in the thousands in the casino that was there for the APA. One friend of mine booked a 14k loser. All league players aren't nits..lol I believe this will be the most fun Derby yet.

I'm going to be at the DCC if Bucktooth goes maybe he can get some action started if anyone on the planet can its him. I've seen him woof at players and all of a sudden every one in the building is betting just to see him loose. When he looses every in the building has stacks of $100 bills lets hope the old man goes to the DCC. HUGE $$$$$$$$$$$$...

This might be a strange question but as old as he is, he probabbly doesnt work anymore if he ever did so did he make some billion dollar score a long time ago and is still gambling off of it? I mean when you think about it him and FATBOY are really the only ones on here that you ever here about betting enomus amounts of cash. I saw Bucktooth at the last derby with his board and what looked like an infinite supply of $100 bils. We all know where FB's money came from, what about Bucktooths. Its really no ones business but just out of curiosity........

Though Bucktooth is probably the most famous woofer on this forum, he is actually an august businessman who made his fortune by investing wisely from the proceeds of selling high-class jewelry in California in his jewelry stores.

Most avid TV watchers who enjoy crime shows will remember an episode on A&E that featured Bucktooth's jewelry store getting robbed at gunpoint, and there was horrific violence.

I have only met him once in person, but I have read of many a pool player going to the West Coast hoping to get played by Bucktooth.

Matching up with Bucktooth isn't easy playing pool because nobody knows his true speed today, and he does demand some weight to get played. However, if you can get him down, you have the chance of winning big. He doesn't pull up and has a tendency to stay engaged in action, with both nostrils open.

Bucktooth does enjoy gabbing, and he is a legendary California action man. His gift of gab is hilarious, and that's part of the fun about being around Bucktooth! :grin-square:

You're right about that JAM. Pooky gave him a ridiculous spot a few years ago...got his nose open....and beat him out of "big money". Can you imagine those two woofing at each other Jam? I would have paid to see that!

Bucktooth probably thought he was highrolling Pooky, betting high and getting all that weight. Boy, did he learn an expensive lesson. So, I give Bucktooth props. You will WIN if you can WIN. He ain't going to lose $200 and quit.

Pooky always did have a whole lot of gamble for sure. I miss seeing him. :(

Unfortunately, Pooky didn't keep Bucktooth's money in his pockets too long. Grapevine says that when he got off the plane in Virginia, he proceeded to play Black Brandon and lost all of his five-figure score! Easy come, easy go, as they say.

I will never forget the first time I met Pooky in Baltimore. I had been away from pool for quite a while, and so he was definitely an unknown entity to my eye. He asked Keith McCready for the break and the last four at Hot Shots on Pulaski Highway and enjoyed himself a nice barbecue! :o

All's fair in love and pool, I guess! Since that time, Pooky and Keith became friends. They have played against each other, have played as partners against others, and both of them still enjoy each other's friendship today.

Pooky is a good man to gamble with. :)

Might as well post up my one and only Bucktooth picture, taken in Las Vegas in 2005 or 2006, I think it was.
