The hotel is several hundred yards from the casino and not attached. I wonder if the location of the tournament is in the casino building or hotel.
I was at the location for a site survey awhile back. You cant even tell there is a casino around in the area where the tournament is. You have to walk a ways through the hotel to get to the actual boat where the gaming is.

TAR will be set up in the action room and the word I have from Greg is that the hotel is cool with the action but it has to be done with some common sense. No piles of cash on the lights and no keno,no arm wrestling on the tables with 200 people yelling around it, no craps or coin tossing with money flying everywhere.

Most of the above would draw the cops and security at the Executive West and it will do the same thing at the new location.

Everyone is worried about the casino and I think it will have some effect, I do not think it will be as big as many think though. People can go to a casino anytime, anywhere now. The thing I think may get in the way is the same thing that has been for the last few years: poker tables. I hope I am wrong, we will see.

I think it will be a great event but different than those of the past. Everyone needs to remember that it was either the current location or nothing at all. I personally am going to do all I can to support this new location and what I consider to be the best pool event in my lifetime.

It is a little premature to come with the gloom and doom. The hotel is sold out for both weekends now so it looks like many people have decided to give the place a try. Something else to remember is that everyone is always talking about getting outside money into pool. With the current economy and the proliferation of casinos on every corner they are hungry for business and an event like the Derby with a proven draw could be the opening to a long term relationship with Harrah's.

JCIN....

Is the walkway from the hotel covered, or indoors? Or will we have to walk outside in between the hotel, and the tournament(s) room?

Will there be play in both the buildings #1 and #2 ?

Just trying to get an idea of what to pack.....

THANKS

please find me, then i would love to hear what you have to say and see what your made of...
I think you have me confused with Jamie McWhorter. :D

But you should really take Josh Hillard's advice -- get in the box and play some pool!

I mean, really, isn't it about time already?

We've had to fade all the conversation for far too long now...

Go to the DCC, find Bucktooth (or the nearest senior citizen), make a pool game, and get it on. Get TAR involved while you're at it.

And, in the meantime... practice, meditate, get Jay Helfert's blessing, or do whatever you do, and be prepared to take more than a 3 barrel shot when you get there.

In other words: Get over yourself.

Fat Boy needs Jay to help him if he plays Bucktooth anything besides flipping a coin which is a trap to start with and Bucktooth is to smart for that. Rolling the ball on the Keno board is a gamble you seen Bucktooth loose last year at the DCC and the guy on his left win and you seen FAT BOY watch you got to have HEART to bet a few hundred $$$ that leaves FAT BOY OUT......

cornfed...

since everyone here is too nice to say something...i will:

you really look like a powder-puff HOMO when you post about fat boy bringing $$$ and to grow a heart WHEN YOUR HERO'S HEART DEFLATED WHEN FATBOY BROUGHT $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ INSTEAD OF TOOTH'S $$$ AND MADE YOUR HERO LOOK LIKE A LITTLE BOY IN THE PRESENCE OF A REAL MAN.

The last time you c0cked-off, Fatboy brought the bank of america with him, basically bringing an ICBM to a knife fight.

Maybe you should be careful for what you wish for unless the Tooth brings his nitro pills to keep his heart pumping seconds after the next Fatboy disaster. Boy, are you stupid.

If your going to the DCC bring cash leave the popcorn home. You could bring a bag for FAT BOY because he will need it if he is not flipping a coin. IF BUCKTOOTH goes there is going to be a lot of action because he creates something he gets people Gambling, he puts people in the gambling mod.

are you for real.

Couldn't they both put a bet on the roulette wheel. Tooth on Black, Fatboy on Red and whoever wins the $100 Roulette bet first wins the Big side bet.

That is one funny video. Fatboy you are either incredibly well heeled, brave or stupid (no offense) for walking with a sack of cash like that. The most I've walked with is $20k and I was nervous as hell.

My only question is if you had full intentions of betting that cash? If you were willing to bet it and not just show someone up then that means you also had no problems losing every bit of it.

*edit* Bucktooth is also a nut for being well known to carry that cash
Then again any big money tournament I have been to has had about half as many pistols as cue cases.

i had a boy guard with 2 guns on him near me at all times, I never pack big $$ at pool tournments with out a body guard, I went to Shooters this last weekend, I $200 in my pocket, I have carried over $600,000 on a airplane about 8 years ago and then drove 80 miles with it and dint have a gun, I didnt really think about it-when you look nervious then there is a probelem.

But again at pool tournments I dont arry much unless I have my guard(s) with me, I also carry too.
