I could not be happier that i finally have a Gus in my hand. It plays good and lucky enough have Ron offered me one. This is a very special cue to me, I like to ask you guys out there. Should i change the wrap on it? Or leave it like the way it is? What do you guys think???:dance::dance::dance:

That's what I'm talking about! Now send her to Barry and get the wrap cleaned, It took over 30 years to get her like this.Just sayin......
 
Send that bad boy to me, that's just the way i like my linen wrap to look like. Leave it alone and play the heck out of it or sell it to me. Nice G.Szam.!

You greedy rascal you have too many now! If anything send me the RR Track collar Gus I only have 1 like Peter Just sayin.......

It is Alton, if anything I would have BARRY CLEAN IT! I had it for 15 months and the only thing I did was screw ALTON's Caps on her. I thought Send it to Barry for a cleaning but hate to ship something that can't be replaced... Alton I think Marcus holds the BIGGEST TASC COLLECTOR Title! I am happy with the FEW I have.

peter some things arent fair in life......and trust me this collection of szambotis is one of those things...cgs on some true classics...
 
I think the wrap is perfect the way it is. I hope you shoot with those, no reson to ruin a perfectly good cue by having it sit in a case.

Hi Peter,

Congratulations! Great addition to your collection. The wrap is perfect. It aged evenly across the length and looks great. No way I would consider changing unless it was not original or a rewrap from Gus or Barry. Cleaning would be the most I would consider if it is tacky. You want to be focused on shooting with it.

Personally, I think your addiction is still in control. If you go over the edge and buy an ugly cue, we will let you know that it is time to enter a program. Meantime, keep showing us your new toys.

Peter, congrats, these are some beauties. the bottom Barry was mine until i had to sell it. regret that move, love the chain link in joint. if you ever consider selling it, please give me an oppurtunity. or i havea few nice Gus's i would consider as a possible trade towards it. after 30 + years in the business & making a lot of mistakes, this is my advise on your new Gus. the soil on your wrap is even & not that dirty. don't even clean it & most definately don't remove it. if you ever decide to sell your Gus it will be more valued being all original w/ original wrap, thats what collectors want is original. you have a beautiful collection. take care, don sherman aka Sure Man Cues

Beautiful cue, Peter. But hey, Ron was supposed to play me for that cue....I was going to put up a Barry and him the Gus !! :smile:
