Favorite player and least favorite player?

I have to say my favorite players are.

George "Ginky" SanSouci RIP my friend.
Jose Parica
Erfen Reyes

I bought a few cues from Ginky, and played several times with him. He was a great kid, and a incredible player.

Least favorite.
Strickland
Shaw
Dechaine

.

My two favorite are Earl and Deshaine.

My least favorite would be Jimmy Reid. I was a nobody at the Tar Heel Classic tournament in 1984 in North Carolina and I was winning against Jimmy and he ended up sharking me.

Standing up and pretending to be looking at what I was shooting pretending it was going to be a close hit. Never new a good player like that would be such a low life scum to do that. It was a learning experience.

Favorite (I love characters)...Keith "Earthquake" McCready. I'll stay off the least fav topic.

You've got good taste. :p

Favorites are Keith, Mary Kenniston, Ralph Eckert, Russian, Santos, Marcus Chamat, Alex Pagulayan, Shannon Daulton,Jimmy Reid, Larry Lisciotti, Jose Parica, Earl, Oliver Ortmann, and one of my new faves, Klenti Kaci. :lovies:

I'm beginning to develop into a strong snooker fan because pool has become so disappointing for me lately. In this regard, Ronnie O'Sullivan, the living legend, is on my radar.

There's a few players I dislike, but it's for personal reasons that I won't put on this open pool forum.

I'll give you all of my favorites because they are all tops in my book:

Jean Balukas, Steve Mizerak, Buddy Hall, Ralf Souquet & Alex Pagulayan.

I'll pass on the least favorite category though. Thanks.

I’m surprised that no one has mentioned my favorite: Shane Van Boening! Grew up idolizing Efren, like many. But now, Shane has taken his place for me.

Normally, Shane would make my list, but I've heard a couple things recently about him that didn't sound too flattering. The jury is out, but I'm hopeful.

I’ll play...

Favorite is Luther Lassiter
Least is probably....Mika or Filler (great players but man they rub me wrong)

In no particular order

Buddy- looked so good playing. seems like if you buy a table he should come
with it.
Efren- A mind blower, especially one pocket. holy moly
Louie-Great player. and fun to be around.
Keith- Great player and sooo entertaining
Least favorite Allen Hopkins- pissed me off that someone with a stroke like
that could play that good.

But I sure can't rule out Campbell . just have to keep him on a short leash.

My faves in no particular order would be Efren, for everything. Rodney Morriss and of the new generation Omar Alshaheen. Both Rodney and Omar are always happy as Efren is also.. Forget the least favorite, like Jimmy Reid said No Time for Negative! Add Jimmy in there also, what the hell!

I'll just do the favorites, as I think this topic should stay positive.

Old school, Babe Cranfield, and Luther Lassiter. The best ever in their games.

More modern, Keith McCready. Nobody brought more excitement to the game in the modern era. As well as tournaments, you had to play the Planet Pool league a few years ago to appreciate the crowds that would show up to see him.

All the best,
WW

I think I would have learned my lesson way sooner than you did. You were probably #1 on HIS list of favorite players.

Maniac

You have to understand how we did things in those days...the action was more like what
the Pinoys have.....I broke a lotta players to keep giving it to this player that was too good
for me....but the sessions were taking him longer and longer before he broke me.

After about a year and a half, I finally broke him..:happydance:....he never beat me again...
....until he quit me for life...two years later, after I had some nice things happen to me in
the snooker world, he came up to me and said “I MADE you a player.”
...I agreed with him and told him he could use my bankroll if anyone high-rolled him.

And that’s how we learned back then....by paying our dues.

I'm surprised he didn't ask for 3%!!! :yeah:

Fantasy: Harold worst with green leaf half step behind....I’d love to get into both their heads even tho of course Ralph must have had him some strong demons.....fearless as a player and honorable man in the game if there ever was....hell somehow seem to be speaking of both the men lol.

Modern day.....David matlock. Always looked poetic on a cuestick. If Michelangelo had carved us a player.....well David, would have been David. Twig and berries for balls and cuestick 🤣.

Just the epitome of BALANCE.....and stoicism. He just looks the state of knowing and doing right.

Learn everything you can from the man.

I don't really have a favorite or least favorite player, but I have ones that I really like to watch and ones that I would rather watch paint dry than their games.

I truly enjoy watching old Sigel matches, Anything Shane Van Boening is in, and Earl is always worth watching (I mean who doesn't want to see a guy (who at any moment could stab someone with a pool cue) with a 9 ft cue, ear muffs and 4 inches of tape and insulation on each finger shoot a match???)

Mostly don't like watching most of the female players, a few are exempt from that, but not many.

And watching Justin Bergman shoot pool is like watching a meth head chase an invisible chicken around the laundromat in a trailer park.

But for the most part, most of the guys are like-able...very few actual villains in pool these days.
