Favorite Poster?

I. Is jimmyg a lot…..he had some great threads…..and many of those threads I can’t find.
I must admit I went into a sulk and didn’t renew my gold membership.
I was busy when he got banned…don’t know what it was about.

How can you not be listed by a bunch of people? Excellent poster and not one to stir the poop like some I know! Some live in my very home!

I was laughing about somebody calling you PT108, then I don't think I listed you myself. What I am talking about struggling with these lists. So easy to overlook the most obvious and best. Pretty sure I listed you very high up as a best poster. You will leave a big hole if you ever quit AZB.

Quite a few of my favorite posters are gone. But Smorgie, Hermicudas, girlwon1, Mr. Wilson, wincardona, Koop, John Barton, and johnnyt come to mind.

I used to be a frequent poster on AzBilliards, especially in the aughts, but I soon realized that posting on a forum, even a moderated one, wasn't a good fit for me.

Though I still very much enjoy my AzBilliards reading experience, especially the front-page news, and thanks to posters like Sev, Kickin'Chicken, Justadub, skogstokig, pt109, jay helfert, 12squared, and ShootingArts, there are moments when reading AzBilliards is still informative, entertaining, and brings me joy. And my hat goes out to azhousepro, who provides some insider pool news from time to time and is able to keep things fair in times of trouble.

Today Facebook is a safer place for me to enjoy pool topics, post my thoughts, and stay connected with the pool world. It's easier to post and read known entities where I am the moderator of my own page. I steer clear of politics, religion, and the cyberbullies.

I'd have to throw my hat in the ring for Jay Helfert, C.J. Wiley, Lou Figueroa, Hu (ShootingArts), SJM, BobJewett, JAM, and Mr3Ccushion, in no particular order. Some of these folks post more than others, but they're all great story tellers/custodians of billiards history.
One thing our game has been "blessed" with, are characters IMO. Too many corporate cookie cutter types, in many sports these days. That being said, I get it. In most of these sports, the money is obscene...and the folks paying the bills want choir boys, not criminals as the face of their respective ventures. If I butchered any of your AZB handles, you have my apologies.
My hat is off to you all.

Would "what's her name" be Rachel Welch?

I remember they were filming Smoky and the Bandit 19 or 20 in Redondo beach. Got to see her and Burt Reynolds standing around doing nothing.

it was obviously justnum. by far. as he was mentioned in more posts other than his own. than any other poster.

alas he is gone for the time being until his new screen name arrives.

The Cuemaker regulars.

A lot of good guys on the cuemaker forums that rarely if ever come to the main one. I think the straight pool forum has some great guys too but I rarely go there. I don't get to the specialty forums much and some people rarely if ever leave them.

Not appropriate for this thread but a lot of good guys on the One Pocket Forum too. Not on this site but Mike and the owner of One Pocket Forum are friends, why there is no one pocket division here.

There are a lot of posters I like, and have liked, to follow here. Sadly most of my favorites are gone. I definitely miss the stories Deanoc used to tell. Not interested in the least about hearing any more about the whole Jackpot affair. What's passed is past and none of that takes away from the entertainment value of his "road story" posts.

Deanoc left a lot bigger hole behind when he left than the vast majority of posters will.

Speaking of great posters gone, I remember Williebetmore and was it BreakUp and the great match for a thousand jelly beans. Six months of serious wuffing, then the match. When the beans were counted the payoff was over thirty jelly beans light! One of the greatest threads ever on AZB. Somebody's post reminded me of JohnnyT too, one of the greats with his shenanigans. Hustling his and his neighbor's contractors took some big brass ones but hustling your own mailman is taking things to a whole 'nuther level!

I especially appreciate info on cues. And, I don't know much, but I know who I like in this connection. Currently active: Ideologist, Garzar and Mike Mosconi. And, since I read a lot of old threads on the subject, these oldies but goodies: Tate, Chopdoc, and Runscott. I am sure I missed some, so please . . .

Too close to call between Jewett and Helfert.
I have more hair for the time being. That should be worth something.👨‍🦲

Too bad the new people didn't get to meet Smorg. Several of us met him in person when he came to the AZB get-together in Florida. He had an eyepatch and a crutch, but he didn't get any handicap in the AZB tourney. His 'knock over the bowling pin at the end of the alley by throwing playing cards at it" story was a classic.
