Additionally, the IPT has cancelled two tournaments, one in London and the other in Chicago without a rescheduled date. They have, over the course of their short existance increased the entry fee for their qualifying tournaments from $500(I believe) to $2000.
One point of major interest is that, in spite of the cancelled tournaments and the non payment to the players and others, they continue to hold multiple qualifyier tournaments accepting entry fees for future tournaments that are not even scheduled to take place. It has been stated by many that the IPT resembles the pryamid type of business model that appears to be the basis of Mr. trudeau's past business ventures.

I was in Atlanta at the time they had one of those "Find replacements for the ten tour card spots" qualifiers, back in January. The entry fee for that qualifier was $2k.
Now, that wasn't the FIRST of the five 2-spot-each card qualifiers they did. So it could be the fees for one or more of the previous ones was $500. I dunno. I'm sure there are some folks on here who would know what the fees for those earlier events were.
But from the Atlanta one on, including NA/World qualifiers, it was $2k or $3k.

Of course as I cannot get a simple date right (Sorry JD!) I'm probably wrong about this too.
However if, as people are now speculating, the qualifying system was planned to be a prime IPT revenue source, why didn't they have all of the original 150 earn their places via paid qualifiers? It never made much sense to me at the time.
Originally selected members were to pay an $899 lifetime membership to the IPT. Then Trudeau took heat for that so he reduced it to $1. Somewhere along the line here someone said that they were one of the first to apply and either pay of be willing to pay the $899 and hence were selected for their faith in the new venture. Mrs. Carter perhaps?

Linda, wasn't the original cost of the qualifiers either $500/$1000 or $750/$1500, depending on whether you chose the full or partial prize payout?
And hasn't it been raised two times since, or am I just losing my mind entirely?
