FEEL IN AIMING

your "intuition"/"feel" sends an alarm and you check your landmarks.
if you dont want to call that feel
we can agree to disagree
I am ok with that
i am not going to nit pick with you.
:D
It’s more and more clear that CTE’s most vocal feel deniers have never in all these years known what they’re denying. Dictionary definitions? lol, I guess.

It’s a figure of speech unique to pool and similar aiming activities. Not knowing (or claiming to not know) what it means in pool makes it possible to choose (or make up) definitions that you can comfortably deny to preserve your confidence in your “feel free” system.

If that’s what you need…

Where in the hell is my being argumentative coming into play? The way it's going back and forth, YOU could just as well be thought of as being argumentative because nothing that Cookie and I say is sinking in and you continue to come back with the same repetitive points that we can't seem to break through the barriers. It's frustrating for US also.
I mean, if you could royally kick our asses on the table and stomp our play for some bucks every day, you would be correct.
However, it's the other way around. Think about that Larry.
whether i can beat you or not is not relevant
i can find plenty of ghost ball users to beat both your asses.
so what
it just proves who plays better.
it does nothing else.
your statement in bold is just childish.
you should be ashamed that is all you could come back with.
yes
we (me /you/cookie) do seem to have a different perspective
and it doesnt seem that we are in agreement...... :D 😂
i am ok to agree to disagree because i dont need to prove a point or "win"

Ok. So I felt something was wrong or off. I got back up and used my CTE lines to get my aim right Did I feel aim or not at this point?

Yes because you have a checks and balances system with CTE. When down on center CB i can still see my lines that i used for my set up to know I'm where I should be.

Exactly. The "checks and balances" is where feel comes into play. When you go down for the shot and realize that your body isn't exactly where it should be in accordance with what you're seeing, that realization is brought to you by feel - you sense it, based on what you see and how your body is positioned. But you can't see how your body is positioned...you feel it.

That is the "feel" involved in aiming. I aim while standing up, just like CTE users. I align my body and stroke to a specific aim line or ob reference, then step into the shot and go down to address the cb, bringing my cue onto that aim line.

From that position, just like you said, there are checks and balances. I can still see the aim point on the ob, and if I feel like my body isn't perfectly aligned with what I'm seeing, I know I should stand up and address the shot again.

But I understand how some players call "feel" the process of guessing or searching for the aim line.

The mind is always trying to make sense of things. When we look at puzzle it automatically starts working on a solution, offering up whatever pieces of information it has to help solve the puzzle. The process of knowing or thinking which pieces will work is based how we feel - the subconscious sends info to the conscious mind and we decide if it that info looks right (checks and balances). It's the mind's way of saying, "Yes, according to what I see, this feels like it'll work." Or, "No, this feels off a little."

Look Larry, we know EXACTLY what you're referring to when you describe what you you're seeing, doing, and feeling
because we've BEEN where you are for many, many years using the same methods.

However, YOU don't know what we're referring to because you've never gone our route with a completely different way
way of aiming and shooting at balls.

I find YOUR onslaught about all of this childish and argumentative.

Btw, you could find those who are outside the pro ranks who could beat us but not PLENTY. I haven't proven it but
Cookie certainly has and so has Landon who remained an amateur by beating many of the top pro players.

No need to keep getting your panties into a wad.

Then put your own definition on it so we know what you are talking about. Walk us through a shot describing everything that’s done and exactly what parts are feel

spider(dave)
i think you are incapable of a discussion without being argumentative.
Our Spidey? Say it ain’t so!
whether i can beat you or not is not relevant
A common defense of arguments that don’t hold water - “I don’t need no stinkeen logic - I can beat you!” Some can even use it without spitting all over their screens.

cookie
i will pm you
i can have a discussion with you
i feel like i am going down the rabbit hole
and dont want to invest the time and energy
i deleted a post just above
to copy and paste in my pm

I have never seen an A/B/C written on an object ball in actual play.
have you?
so you have to guess where A/B/C is.
lets throw this out there too
when you decide a shot is a 15 inside
how did you come to that conclusion?
i imagine again i admit i dont know since i dont use cte
you have to use your judgement or "best guess"
No we are trained to know where they are and how to see them as defined by the system

Right, there is no "feel" in seeing. Same with me. I know 100% what I'm looking at because I am looking directly at it - no sensation or feel involved with that.

But determining whether or not my body is aligned or in tune with what I'm looking at is a matter of sensation - communication between the sensors in my muscles and skin and tendons, all sending signals to my brain, allowing me to "know" or "feel" that everything is lined up correctly in accordance with what I'm seeing.

I have never seen a half ball hit written on a ball but people see and shoot them all the time
since you quoted my post
how is your training to see A/B/C different than learning where the contact point/fraction/ or ghost ball is.
as for the half ball hit
the edge is easy to see as there is no ball past it that you can see from where you are standing
center is an aquired skill

Where has that been disputed by any of us? That IS feel based.

I agree but it is NOT what is being referred to by others when this issue keeps popping up for decades over and over.
But I understand how some players call "feel" the process of guessing or searching for the aim line.
In my opinion, it's misused and misdirected. Nor do you then magically find the correct line or aim point by bouncing up and down or back and forth while down on the shot with the body already mispositioned.
The mind is always trying to make sense of things. When we look at puzzle it automatically starts working on a solution, offering up whatever pieces of information it has to help solve the puzzle. You have more going with the mumbo jumbo mind stuff than anyone I've ever seen in any sport. NONE of that crap should be going on while "in action" competing.

But I guess YOU, one of the most celebrated amateur players in the world over the last 25 years and Grand Master of 2D drawings can produce some never-before-seen FEEL drawings on how it comes into play and is used.

Please do. I'd like to see them.
