I'd like to play a set of 9-ball with Tiger for my net worth. I can't even stand looking at the agagant bastard. Johnnyt

He is idolized in PI especially for being so down to earth even with all his accomplishments. Notice how he just sat with the crowd after the game. He probably stayed there and watched other people play, gave autographs, etc...until somebody asked him to play chess.

I was fortunate to see Efren back in PI when I was still there and I swear, for the superstar treatment he gets, it never got to his head. Wore flipflops, shorts and a tank top. Walked in to a local goto (a type of filipino soup) shop and sat with the rest of the people in there. I am pretty sure he was offered a table in the corner, but he wanted to sit with everybody else in a long "picnic-table like" bench so he can just talk and mingle. Regardless if they were total strangers.

I hope Efren plays forever. What a "lucky" player. We are lucky to have witnessed his skill on a pool table and the humble way he has always handled himself.

I hope tiger never wins another tourneyment and Jack's record never gets beat.

Thanks for the link. Even that young kid there has game, great focus and the kick he made on the 1 was no easy thing getting around the balls in the way.

Nice little 1P 2 railer on the 9ball. Efren likely trying to hang it for the kid.

The kid kicked to the correct side of the 1? to roll the 9 close. They learn young.

Thanks for the link. In any game, Efren is fun to watch.

Efren's ability to depict simplicity in a mindboggling tough game with constant humility and a smile on his face is second to NONE! (in any game at any time!) and I for one am overwhelmed with joy to have been able to witness his portrayal of such!

I agree. My favorite player because of his skills not only on the table, but off the table too. And how can you not like someone with so much luck.

Ran into Efren at Circus Circus one morning. My stupid friends just watched him walk by! I said boys, that's Efren. He wore a plain white t shirt and faded blue jeans and looked like he should be working outside watering the flowers! I mean no disrespect by that, just saying he's just plain folk. Chased him down and tried to talk to him. Not a big talker, but shook the hand of my fav player. He went to the crap table. If I hadn't had to go play pool I would have joined him at the crap table and been able to say I had shot dice with Efren Reyes!! We could all take lessons on humility from Efren.
