Filler withdrawn from Reyes cup

Cold fact is that Matchroom is driving the pro pool bus right now. Why should MR care what a competitor does/doesn't do. MR is going forward regardless of Predator's actions. Predator has been good for pool without a doubt but as far as running a large global tour they are lightweights compared to MR. I don't see why MR should/would consider other tour's events when laying out the schedule. I'm sure MR wants to see pro pool grow but at heart they're a PROFIT driven enterprise so fitting in a competitors events seems just a tad counter-productive.

So is it beyond Predator to further it's business and venture into full 'TV' production for the mainstream?
What are you calling 'mainstream'? Regular cable style tv? Not happening anytime soon. Pool is a niche sport and streaming is going to be the main delivery method for the foreseeable future. Most likely pay-4-view until profits allow free streams.

You know, I think streaming/online is the main delivery medium for a LOT of people, in a LOT of things.

I know I can personally waste the whole day in bed watching crap on YouTube from normal people. Stuff about cars, computers, tools, pool, you name it.

I guess my point is it's not only pool that is going the "non-mainstream" internet route. The regular "mainstream" is also going that way.

MR can't be the sole entity that can achieve it?

Predator has been placed in a compromising position. Predator is an enormously positive force in pool and deserves better. Like Matchroom, they are investing a lot of money in the furtherance and growth of our sport and seeing obstacles unnecessarily placed in their path cannot possibly serve the best interests of pro pool.
Don't forget, Matchroom is partnered with Cuetec, who is a direct competitor to Predator.

I’ve been wondering myself. Biado seems to play in everything and doesn’t get banned. We will find out soon enough.

To be honest, I DID forget.

The sponsorship issues need to be worked out sooner rather than later. For pool to do anything the sponsors and tours/ tournaments need to realize there has to be some “ diversity in logos”. Predator wants and needs Predator players to be sporting logos in WNT evens. Likewise, Cuetec needs and wants its players - SVB exhibit one- to play in events sponsored by predator. Other tours and leagues seem to manage this. College football may have Nike/Addidas/UA SCHOOLS, but there is never a problem if a Nike school plays and Addidas school. The same applies in other sports. People figure it out and the sports and players all do better for it. In an interview Jack Nicklaus discussed a problem that arose when he won a car in an event sponsored by a car company. He endorsed another brand. They worked it out. (I think it ended up costing Jack a little money). You want the problem of sponsors putting money in a sport and competing companies sponsoring players. It helps everyone.

That said, in other sports the equipment companies players endorse aren’t sponsoring a tour or league necessarily. Other sponsors may sponsor an event while the competitors represent other companies. Now that I think about it, NASCAR might be a place to look. Drivers may well win an event sponsored by a company that is a competitor of their main sponsor, right? I am no NASCAR expert though. Pool is a smaller pond I guess. But for it to advance as a spectator sport, all these entities better figure out the sponsor issues. Maybe before some of the scheduling or player ban issues.

What pisses Predator off is scheduling conflicts because Matchroom seems to have a don't care attitude in working with others on schedules.
We don’t know that.

Given| the lack of clarity in all these disputes, I am unwilling to blame any entity specifically until or unless I get more information. I prefer to ask questions first,

Most of us merely reflect our biases when we state things we don’t know for certain. I‘ve done that before too.

i am biased in favor of MR generally because of what it has done for the game, but no person or organization is perfect. All have self interests and make mistakes. Sometimes even good people or successful businesses do bad or ill-conceived things.

i am not giving MR pass, though. They have not been entirely forthcoming either.

I suppose Filler played the World Eight ball because he was reminded of the following:

You don’t tug on Superman’s cape
You don’t spit into the wind
You don’t pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger
And you don’t mess around with Karim.

Even if you do have a 2 piece custom made pool cue given to you as a wedding gift.

WPA scheduled Qatar World Cup 10-Ball next day after Mosconi Cup (Nov 30-Dec 3)_ ends in Florida. It's a 17-hour flight from USA to Qatar. The beat goes on, and the best goes on.

Is this a new event just announced for the first time to the public? Or was it in the works for a while (publicly) and I simply missed it? Thanks.

Emily brought Efren in to watch Shane's match. It makes even more sense now. The European star player is not there to mingle with Efren and the Asian fans.

Got to be an asterisk event 😆 No Matchroom high-ranking cohorts in the picture 😆

i don't know about that. their poster was a laughing stock last year because they used players that hadn't signed up and didn't play:
