Finally watch POOL HALL JUNKIES, man what a stinker.

Mars is a real character. He played pool at Hollywood Billiards and the Hollywood Athletic Club.

Back 30 years ago. Time flies.

Those were the halcyon days of the post Color of Money era in pool.

The HAC was the hippest pool room of all time.

Mars used to play at the main action table frequently.

Late to this party, but I’ll offer these two “gems” that are so, so bad. They are Not Pool Related.

“The Undead”. OMG, a hypnotist sends a prostitute back to her former lives in the 16th century. The concept, the abominable dialog spoken with terribly bad “accents” and mimicry of what people in the UK may have spoken then are truly, truly awful.

“Honky Tonk Freeway”. Surprisingly, full of actors with strongly recognizable names, this movie was filmed in my now hometown, Mount Dora, FL. Most of downtown was painted Pepto Bismal pink for the movie, and it featured a wster-skiing elephant. Yes, you read that right.

It was going for a silly “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World” vibe, but failed miserably. The movie ends seemingly because they ran out of money to finish the story. Until I recently saw “Undead”, I thought this was the worst movie I had ever seen.

PHJ has an unreal cast of older actors and younger ones.

It's a miracle that the film was ever made.

It's not Gone With The Wind and yet it is entertaining.

Could it have been better? Sure.............................

Mars co wrote, directed and starred in PHJ.

You have to give the man some credit.

I like twisty spy movies but I did appreciate the closing movie of the week fantasy set. Walken tells Palminteri "I'm a millionaire. If I lose 80k I go get another 80k blah blah un quote... and then the cheap move on the last ball. The counter guy was ok.

Worst movie ever: Ishtar...and it ain't even close. If you know, you know.
It's like, "How can they make a movie this bad?" Many of the people involved, especially the principals, were accomplished Hollywood players. Yet somehow these capable people grunted out that turd. That film should be required viewing for aspiring filmmakers. "See? If these people, with their proven track records, can make a movie wholly devoid of artistic merit, you better believe it can happen to you, too!"

No discussion of worst ever films is complete without at least a mention of Ishtar (1987).
Since were are going into NPR territory, Ishtar I think was more of a money failure than a plain bad move. I think that movie with Affleck and Lopez is up there for horrible movies, Gigli. Even more so than Ishtar.

Gigli is legendary. Ben Affleck’s “cow and bull” speech gives the lion speech the 6
