Fixing the game of 9 ball.

My prediction would be: not well. Depends a bit on the table and the break format. Winner breaks and non-gaffy table, an 800 fargo will probably string 3-4 racks and be a threat to run 5-6 as well, any time he comes to the table with a makeable shot. He'd likely adjust his game a bit, to make sure he doesn't leave you anything. Remember that he is about a 50% to run out from a hooked position.

I don't really like your chances unless you are 700+ yourself. An 800+ fargo is an entirely different beast from most other players. Insane shotmaking, Godlike kicking, flawless strategy. There isn't really a lot you can do against a guy like that, unless you string racks every inning. They can run the set out at any moment and will put insane pressure on you.
I don't know....I'd like to try it though.

I am still interviewing backers.

I’ve been busy, have we fixed 9 ball yet? I sure hope so! I’m hoping we can fix one pocket next. I’m thinking we number all six of the rails and every time you shoot you must roll a dice. Whatever number you roll, you can only bank off the corresponding numbered rail. And if you roll the same number twice in a row you get a shot of rum.

Any other ideas to fix another game that isn’t broken?

Full disclosure, I'm a nobody.

I just watched Spain vs Great Britain A, World Cup. Matchroom. That match, 9-ball wasn't "broken". No break and runs in the frames I saw (the last 10 racks). Several breaks, no ball was made. One or two pushes. A few safeties, a couple (unsuccessful) jump shots. Fast paced. It was great to watch.

Whatever Matchbook is doing is working. To this nobody, anyway.
