For anyone thinking about videos.

First of all this is not a thread where I am accusing any individual of anything because I honestly do not know of anyone who has a reason to dislike me, but obviously someone does.

I have been on the forum for years but I mostly lurk now. For those of you that know me I have a Youtube channel where I post instructional videos. I was one of the first youtube partners and have made a little money but nothing to brag about. I have had problems with someone click bombing my videos which has resulted in my adsense account being suspended. Google is not an easy company to deal with in more ways than one.

Now to the point of this thread: If you are thinking about videos do not go with google all it takes is one person who is out to get you to ruin your standing with google and its nearly impossible to get it fixed. Also with success in anything no matter how well meaning you are people are going to be out for you, so watch your back.

After the last time my account was reinstated I told myself if it happens again I'm done. So now I'm done.

This totally sucks. I've watched almost all your videos and always look forward to when your new ones come out. How could someone do this, especially with all your work with St. Jude's? Just unbelievable! Wishing you all the best in this Marcus.

Good luck with that issue, I enjoy your website also, just as others here do.

I have a couple of theories, but without the time or resources to investigate its really not worth it. I am not a confrontational person anyways... I keep doing this stuff because of the viewers' support and feedback. I will post in the future just not as frequently.

I didn't even know what click bombing was ... that's pathetic and a shame. I've watched and enjoyed many of your videos

So what is Click Bombing?

Click bombing is artificial clicking on websites, videos or advertisements in the video or website that is done manually or more often done by software designed to create fake traffic. People do this in an attempt to artificially inflate traffic in order to make more money from programs like adsense. Click bombing is also done by a third party to ruin a competitor. Google monitors all of this activity and they don't care who does it or why they just squash whoever its happening to. In my case I was a target, a small fly that google doesn't mind swatting.

click bombing

im sorry
maybe i dont want to know. i dont understand the click bombing can it be explained again.
im sorry what happened. is there a fix, what can we do to help?

Thats too bad Marcus. I also enjoyed watching the vids. Anytime I can bury myself in basically free pool lessons, I will.
Always an A Hole in the crowd.

So, a competitor might do this to another. Do you think you have a competitor or at least someone who is jealous of your pool videos?

I recently found your vids on youtube and watched them all. Very helpful and informative, thanks for doing them.

I go to great lengths not to antagonize trolls on the forums, youtube or anywhere else. The bottom line is if someone wants to click on ads on a website to get that account suspended they can if google doesn't feel like investigating fully, because its cheaper just to suspend the account.

Whoever did this is probably a regular here, so here is a message for whoever: I didn't make that much money, just enough to cover the light bill, now I'm making zero.

i can't believe this has happened! i began watching your videos FIRST years ago. most informative and helpful too. this is just another example of today's bull**** world. always one in the crowd but what's the motive? any way to retify this? i would hate to lose the access to your helpful videos!

Very similar to streamers having many pc's open 100's of windows. They act like they have 1000's of viewers when in fact they have 100's...lol One pc can count for 100's of viewers if you have the bandwidth...So people that think they are getting their product shown to millions are in fact showing it to a hand full, and being taken by the ad seller...

No matter what #'s the seller is selling you, buyer beware.

The more clicks (views) someone gets on their site, usually means the more money they make. If someone purposely click bombs someones elses site, meaning they use a program to click over and over, the company who hosts the site, in this case adsense becomes suspicious. They think that the person who is doing it is the owner of the site, Marcus. They think he is doing this to make more money, so they suspend his account. The other person wins, because now they have one less competitor.

very sorry to hear of this, having enjoyed your videos and learned an incredible amount from them. enough to make a contribution directly, which i would encourage others to do who have also enjoyed your videos.

i'd guess you've already checked this out, but is there any benefit to putting them up at vimeo or other sites?
