When you're out an about today, stop for a few minutes and remember our friend, John Morton, aka RudeDog. Today would have been his 41st birthday - we all miss you John!

Thanks David. You just put everything into perspective.

I was in a poker game last night, and naturally somebody took a bad beat on a hand. He reacted with a smile and a laugh. Strange behavior. So someone at the table asked him what he was so happy about. He said "Every day I wake up is a good day". I loved that line and just wanted to share it.

Our esteemed forum friend Rude Dog - still alive in our thoughts. We miss you, fella.

I think of you especially when I am on my way to LasVegas and stop at Taco bell or McDonalds in Kingman,AZ .

RIP Rude Dog. You are truly missed.

And on a lighter note, Happy Birthday to Rude Dog's Wife! I hope you're doing well and have a great day!

Barbara

Unfortunately it's true. The Big Dog left us a while back. I believe it was heart related but I could be wrong.

Actually, I think there should be a R.I.P. list, for quite a few valuable forum members have gone on to play the big box with the one above.

For all of them, I tip my beer and say, "This one's for you!"

You are all missed!!!!

Wow! I haven't been coming here as much as I used to. I remember Rude Dog very well. He had a very bad leg and shared with us that it may have to be amputated. Could it have been from some complication related to the leg?

Anyway, rest in peace my friend!

I'll be honest. I was looking at the birthdays yesterday when I saw Rude Dog's name there & thought at first "Should that really still be shown?"

It took me all of a few seconds to decide "Yes, it should be."

A lot of Rude Dog's post were made before I joined AZB but I've read many of them & enjoyed them. I think he's someone I would've liked to meet. I think it's a good thing to see his birthday noted here, it gives us all a chance to think about the people we miss & remember them.

I never knew Rude Dog, and I have to say I wish I did.

I miss my phone calls with John.
He was a great teacher of the game and a funny, funny guy who would always have me laughing. I still have emails from him that I will never delete.

Koop - will always love the Rude One.

I was wondering if anybody would be interested in having a "John Morton Memorial" tournament - I would be willing to help organize it - and I think Hardtimes would be the obvious choice of venue. If anybody is interested in helping out with this, let me know and we can make it happen.

John was a big part of this forum, and he was our choice to send to the US Open a few years back - he represented us with pride and did us proud. I think doing something like this would be awesome to keep his memory and spirit alive.

I agree, there should be some kind of memorial board here.

Why not "Rude Dog" tournament?

Maybe his spirit is embodied in his chosen forum name. Any reason the tournament shouldn't be Rude Dog's tournament? (with appropriate wall decoration citing his real name, photos, best quotes from AZB, testimonials from other forum members, etc?)

John was a great guy, player and friend. We ran around Vegas playing in bar tournments. i'll awalys miss him

I have not been participating on the forum for a while, but I have been lurking lately. I am very sad to hear the passing of John. All though I did not know him I always knew under that "tough guy" persona, he was nothing but a big teddy bear.
When my mother passed I shared it in the NPR section of the forum, John spoke about his father passing and how hard it was for him and he gave me some very encouraging advice as well via PM's.
We also played in a fantasy football league together, he claimed to know nothing about football and he proceeded to win the league. I think John was on the stall:D
All I can say John is that you will be missed and I definitely wished I would have got to meet you in this life as you was one of the GOOD GUYS.
Your E friend Todd
