2013, this is a rare opportunity.
There seriously needs to be a new rule, after a certain time a post just gets taken down.

Especially since the no other person bumping rule, all these pages are self bumps.

It is getting increasingly more difficult to browse the section with the same sticks and cases getting bumped over and over again.

It's because the cue market is terrible, and is getting worse by the day. Nothing is selling because nobody wants to part with cold, hard, cash.

I have been lurking on this site for a comple of months. Actually registered last month because I have been looking for a cue and love billiards.

I am in the for sale section everyday several times a day looking for a deal. Being an average Joe the majority of the cues are out of reach.

I have to agree there should be some kind of rule put in place as I see the same cues week after week after week.

Some cues are not going to sell because they are just not that great looking. For the rest it is obvious to me and should be to most of these sellers that they are over priced.

My buddy owns a pool hall and sells cues and will order me a production cue at cost which is about 40% off retail. Going to probably get a Joss or Pechauer and call it a day because damn these cues are high !

All these cues are overpriced and pool is dying except for the leagues and league players really don't care about expensive cues.

I hear a lot of guys get all giddy because they bought a McDermott or Lucasi.

They will not be lusting over these thousand dollar cues.

I am last of a dying breed and grew up during the time when old timers were playing on 9 footers and gambling. These guys appreciate the nice cues. Bad cue market and dying sport equals no cues moving.

Nowadays, people want value, they will not pay thousands for something used. To stand out and differentiate yourself, you must have a mint condition cue that is desirable.

I'm wondering about the story behind the ad...

...he was selling this cue so he could buy his fiancee a ring..
...two years ago.

Did he scrape up the money anyway and marry the girl?
Did they have a kid?
When they had their first argument about him playing....
...did he get hit with a Bus?

There are eight million stories in the Naked City....
...this may be one of them.

I was just about to mention that. The ad started off with "need to sell to finance a ring" and it hasn't sold for years now.

I guess he didn't marry her.

It seems every one is over priced for you, your I trader reflects zero transactions.
It doesn't seem that you really are either a buyer or a seller.
Pretty much making your opinion based on zero experience.

The AZB members who maintain 100% I trader ratings have earned it.....
Not just words but words backed by there deeds........

You have every right to express your opinion, but you don't have the right to belittle every buyer and seller who uses the for sale section..
Regardless of what you may think there are some rock solid people who buy and sale cues and pool related products.
Those same people also have a ton of knowledge about pool cues and it would be willingly ignorant to belittle any of these people just because you are a overly opinionated person and major tight wad.
You have no idea how dreadfully honest some of the members really are.

I never said all sellers.

There are tons of great sellers on here and elsewhere. I am just commenting on the OP when he said threads are being bumped for years on because they haven't been sold. That is a reflection of the price and desirability, as I have mentioned earlier.

Also, the sales ad started off with "need to finance a ring" and its been two years. At least the seller should edit accordingly. Leaving it as it is, shows a lack of respect to potential buyers.

Mike,

I have a 0 itrader rating, am I a bad trader or buyer?

The thread was started because there are a lot of great sellers out there and a few who just keep bumping the same old stuff. They know who they are. Heck a lot of them even bump it with no price decrease.

And some of the sticks will never sell, the people just have a grossly inflated idea of what someone will pay for it. That's exactly what it is, and what they actually say. Someone will pay that for it, so they'll keep bumping it. No regard for others.

$1400.00 and only 2 shafts. Not even an original on the playing cue.

He is supposed to be a cue maker and repairman. Yet, he couldn't clean up the shafts for the sale.

What kind of wedding did he have planned when he has to sell possessions to purchase a wedding ring.
How would he finance the other wedding expenses. If that is his Net Worth in life, if I were the women, I would run in the other direction.

I wouldn't buy anything off of that Romanian anyhow.
He is a Gypsy Chiseler.

Only my opinion but he can't be trusted.

I agree the story is long past its intended purpose but there is no reason that someone can't continue to run their for sale ad until the cue is sold.

Sorry but the minor inconvenience or semi annoyance of your everyday life shouldn't equate to rewriting rules. The world does not revolve around your personal highs and lows.

With that said I have seen other forums allow ads to run for 2 months then require a price decrease of 5-10%. Or you can't rerun the ad for 3 months. Not a horrible idea.

I will say this. AZB is no longer the pulse of the market. This BST forum may be dead but the market is purring right along via facebook. At one point in time this was the place to be for buying, selling and trading. That's no longer the case. Long term I don't think that's a good thing for the forum.

It's all part of the W/FS section landscape.

You can look at this particular ad as someone who has an unrealistic expectation *or* if you are actually interested in what's for sale you can see if they're ready after all this time to sell at a more realistic price.

If you're not interested in what's being offered, why let it bother you? just move on to the next ad.

I have to admit, I see lots of these kinds of ads, in fact there's one that states fresh off the lathe in the op and it's 5 pages deep now. It doesn't get me mad, in fact not only am I not mad about it, I actually get a chuckle over it (hey, I had 3 negatives in that sentence).

Generally, when I see guys with pages and pages of bumps, I skip over because it tells me they're not pricing their items well.

I wish there was a better way to do I trader ratings because I know I have a couple but I've bought 2 cues, 3 shafts, a couple books, chalk and some templates and I know it's not all on my I trader lol.

I trader and buyers and sellers in the WFS

Who cares what price the seller puts on the cues or how long the cue has been for sale, If you or I am not selling or buying it is none of our business.

Dom poopa non stops complains about the prices of cues in the wanted for sale section and he clearly is not a buyer or seller, just a complainer.

This is more like a bunch of old ladies at the knitting club who have nothing better to do besides complain about something or someone.

We have no right to belittle any honest buyer or seller, its none of our business what they are doing as long as there transactions are honest and we are not the buyer or the seller we should leave them alone because what they are doing is with in the WFS guild lines, its not a moral issue, and its none of our business or right to dictate that every buyer and seller price there products the same or cant hold out for the right buyer to come along. .
This is America not north Korea or some hick country who will not allow there woman to show there face.

I trader ratings

I have about 10 or 15 transaction that I haven't gotten I trader ratings on too.

I don't like the fact that all my repeat customer transactions don't count.

But I don't care about it enough to complain about it.

Hi Kickin,

Here is my reason for "why let it bother you, move on to the next ad"

It's because it seems there are lots and lots of people doing this with MULTIPLE ads each time. Where logic would tell you start on page 1 and look forward, there is no real point on where to start anymore with "Randy Mobley's old mule stick" popping up all the time, or gems like this 2 year old wedding ring idea.

I'm looking for a stick, not sure specifically what cuemaker, but it just turns buyers like me away from the process.

It's all part of the W/FS section landscape.

If you're not interested in what's being offered, why let it bother you? just move on to the next ad.
