For The Love Of All Things Holy; STOP With The "FEELERS" !!!

Agree with OP and others in this thread. Would be nice to see some type of enforceable guidelines in wanted/for sale section and if they aren't met, then post gets deleted,, if possible. I'm sure that may seem harsh to some but I won't bother to pm a seller that can't at least put a price in the post.

Another one that gets me is when they post "it hits a ton" or similar,,,,,, my ton and your ton are probably different.

Not sure how trivial it is, but maybe it's possible to have a mandatory web form for items to be sold. If all the required fields are not filled out, it cannot be posted. Such as

*CueMaker

*Price

*Butt Weight

*Shaft Weight

*Shaft diameter

Inasmuchas I agree with this - and the OP - 100% all day long, this Forum has never successfully provided or policed New Thread Rules, Best Practices, Rules of Engagement, etc.

But the WORST to me are the friggin TOURNAMENT LISTINGS!

NOTHING is worse than a Tourny Thread without the *&$#@^% location in the friggin' TITLE!! Or, "Saturday at Billy Bob's Bait Shop & Pool Hall". Which Sat and which Billy Bobs???? instead try "Aug 30 in Toledo, OH" OK! Now I'll click on it....

Listing rules. Great idea, MANY other forums have them and adhere to them. But mods here, well, you know.....they can't keep barkcinammon out.....

you totally missed what I was saying. How does a seller know who is interested PM the entire forum their best offer?

PMs work BOTH ways! Rather than the buyer having to initiate a PM to the seller with an initial offer, why can't the seller PM the potential buyer with the "ROCK BOTTOM" price they will take instead of the MAP.

This type of buying/selling is why I hate going car shopping...cue the BS and haggling and everybody trying to rob the other person. SET A FAIR PRICE AND GET ON WITH IT!!!

Oh wrong thread.

Wanted/For Sale issues are not new. What burns me up more than anything is abuse by cue dealers. There was a rules update last year and it hasn't been enforced or managed very well IMO.

Maybe there should be two Wanted/For Sale sections. One where you must be a professional dealer to have access and another section for amateurs only.

You want us to buy your over-priced cues but only if we follow your rules?

Give me a break..

It's easy to pass over a thread or a post.

I passed over the link you posted earlier simply because I didn't want to read your diatribe.

hungarian;

you should know me enough to realize that what I wrote in the op was not in any way meant to be condescending. My condescension leaves more of a stinging sensation. Remember? :p

what I wanted to convey in a very sincere way, in case someone really didn't know, was just how easy it is to establish a value and from there they can decide whether or not to sell their cue. And that if they decide they will, they can assign *a price*.

I have received more rep for this thread than any other I've made in my time here on az. Obviously, this is a hot-button issue for many members. Thank you guys very much for sending all that green my way.

It's been discussed before and DJ brought it up again in this thread, the idea of a selling template form that must be completed in order to post an item for sale. It seems to me like it would be a huge step in the right direction.

I also agree 100% with ideologist who thinks we shouldn't ignore pollution when we come agross it, but rather, we should try to do something about it.

thanks to all for your comments. Even you, 'hung':

You are very welcome. Glad I can provide a counterpoint that keep things balanced around here...

I didn't miss what you were saying...maybe I didn't word it SIMPLE enough.

1. SELLER lists item with NO PRICE in forum
2. POTENTIAL BUYER posts "HOW MUCH?" in same forum
3. SELLER sends PM to POTENTIAL BUYER with a REALISTIC PRICE...not some BS price that is a just a oouple dollars short of MAP.

Got lots of grief in this thread for asking "how much" from two people that weren't even involved in the sale. Just absolutely do not understand why someone will not post a price. To me if someone is not willing to name their price (I'm not just talking cue guys.....this applies to everything in life) it is for only one reason. They know their price is too high, but they are trying to dazzle you with bs. In other words, they do not have respect for the buyer.

I finally did get a price from him and we weren't able to come together.

Bob,
There is no respect for the buyer or seller equally. Buyers have to low ball, sellers over price knowing a low offer is coming... Vicious cycle of doing business.

When a dealer lowballs he is a scum bag, when an individual lowballs its called haggling. I love it.

the few nits that do it got no clue of the cue value they are just wasting time and space then they have a few az pals bump their post then take up more space its a big joke they are not selling nothing just having fun I don't even open their thread just go right by it im sure many do the same

I believe the 50 opinions were heard loud and clear, let's stop bumping this thread as some of us do have prices in our for sale threads that keep getting bumped to the backpages...

Joe I never had any problem with you. I never felt you were a scumbag because you always gave a price ;). I have no problem with negotiations. But in order to have negotiations each party has to bracket themselves. Why oh why is it so hard to say how much you want!

And by the way, if you looked at that thread, turns out that "collectable" cue wasn't even collectable by the owners admission.
