Frank "The Barber" Almanza

The Barber passed away this morning. He was the man in So Cal along with John Henderson. I believe he was in hospice for a week or so. Frank captained many teams in BCA and APA events. He was a very complete player. RIP Pancho.

Oh, no. This is sad news, indeed. Frank was a major pool personality, and he was always a friend to those who knew him. My deepest sympathies go out to his friends and loved ones.

Many moons ago I was in SoCal and Frank and I tried to get together to play some 1pocket.

From our brief conversation, and by reputation, I knew he was a good guy, super friendly. He wanted me to come over his house to play but I figured if I was going to let The Barber give me the Sweeney Todd shave I wanted at least neutral territory and regrettably we weren't able to get together.

You missed out, he had a sweet Centennial and a real barber chair in his pool room. He sold his table when he moved to Sun City.
