I would like to say that is a nice cue and voice my opinion on some of the post.I have never had any dealings with either cue maker so my opinion is not jaded.
At some point and time someone was the first to do a fullsplice, someone was the first to add inlays and somone was the first to add a steel joint,All those things have been copied from the first person to do it.If things were not copied we wouldn`t have the cues we have today(good or bad).I can see if someone is making a exact copy of a cue and trying to pass it of as a original but to say that a design or technique is only mine to use(unless it is copywrighted, patented)is crazy.
Look at Gus,George and Burton, how many ideas of theirs have been copied by other cue makers.
I`m not trying to start an arguement or get flamed but just give my honest opinion.
Unless you get a patent your work is subject to be copied/modified and theres nothing you can do about it but take it as a compliment because you must have done something unique and good for it to be copied.JMHO
VERY TRUE....................
How many Southwest "Style" cues do you see?
How many TAD Merry Widow trubuit cues do you see on the market?
Unless a design is patented a person has no rights to say "that's mine and no one elses" to use. Having said that if a cue maker does his/her best to make an exact copy of someone's design and try to pass it off as an original SWC, ST, etc....................... then let the flames and legal action begin.
Should we flame the cue maker who made the TAD tribute, after all TAD is still alive?
