Fuel foods for pool players

What do you eat regularly, before and during a long tournaments that I will call a Fuel Foods that helps you stay awake, and not go dozing off in during a long tournament?

Granola bars and nuts are easy to carry along and nuts are usually available at the bar. I order a sandwich after a couple hours of play, even a hot dog will help. The granola bars are my best fuel food for ease of carry and at least some nutrition. At 64 yrs old I've found these last few years that when my blood sugar dips I really feel it. When I was younger I could work all day with no food, just a Pepsi ortwo but not these last few years. I really feel it when I go too many hours without fuel. So I need to have some sort of fuel food available.

I eat from the bottom two food groups but add the chicken fingers food group in...:D

I like to carry Nutrigrain bars and the small serving Fig Newtons in my pool bag for when I play thru dinner time, stay longer than I planned to or play a tourney.

Granola Bars and down a glass of water...10 minutes later your a new person. seriously.

complex carb's

I seriously try to eat fairly light but complex carbohydrates that are going to enter my system slowly. I dodge things like soft drinks and candy with a lot of sugar which is going to jack you up for a few minutes and then cause you to crash harder than ever when the insulin dumps.

I don't want anything heavy or greasy or large portions of anything. The goal is to maintain a nice level keel. I don't want to be so hungry that it is a distraction but I want to be a little hungry or neutral, there are good reasons to never even feel full at a competition much less like you overate.

Holy shit, how big is your case. do you just toss them down a spare shaft hole and shake them out as needed

Exactly. I take a 36 inch spring with a homemade top and insert it into the spare butt tube in my case, then I cut the beef jerky into 3/4 inch circles. I put about 150 of them into the tube and then put a cover on it. When I take the cover off walla a piece of beef jerky! A great treat to chew on while playing. :D
