woods

hey mason,

that blank looks great. considering that you're a wood nut, just wondering which woods were used and if you had chosen the woods or if you chose the blank after it was done.

good luck

i just bought it after it was built.it is black hornbeam, paduak, and yellow heart i believe is the yellow wood.i have never tried hornbeam before but i read it is a lot like maple.

i am extremely impressed with the full splice recuts,i have no idead how he does it but they look great.no glue lines, gaps or cracked points either.it is very impressive and the price was reasonable.

i'm going to let it sit for a month then cut it to size in about 3 passes.it came to me at .900".i am trying to decide whether it should get rings or maybe Hoppe style or ???

Full Splice Blank

Mason,
Looking forward to seeing the completed cue. I'm still playing with the Cocobolo and Curly Koa cue that you made, love how the cue plays.
Take Care,
Charles

MasonH Cue

Mason,
The retapered shaft is doing fine, it's getting a lot of table time.
Take Care,

I got to play with a couple of DBK's cues and they played great. I was really impressed with the construction and balance of both cues. This blank should turn out to be a knockout in Mason's hands! Can't wait to see it finished.

It's a cool blank. It would indeed be nice to see the finished cue.

If he finished it, maybe somebody here has it and could show it off?

Just a thought.
