Full splice jig

and he has the paragraph copied from DZ's website aswell word for word i believe.

On the plus side, re-reading this made me realize I started two sentences in a row with "Of course".

I'm usually a stickler about syntax and ache to change this butchery of the English language. But I won't. I want to leave it as-is so the proof of a blatant "copy & paste" remains visible to all.

....the offending page:
His 5th paragraph on this page is identical to the 9th paragraph on my page http://www.dzcues.com/prices.html

Of course you did  Change it if you like Bob but personally I don't see a reason to (at least not for the sake of proper english). Your text reads well and most important it reads smoothly. Apparently there's at least one other person that feels the same:frown:

Leonard Van Hirtum www.vanhirtumcustomcues.com

Mr Leonard Van Hirtum has caused his "Cue Gallery" web page to now read "Under Construction" and is no longer showing my two photos.
http://www.vanhirtumcustomcues.com/cue gallery/default.html
NOTE: I still have a copy of the original web page saved to my hard drive for legal reasons or ?

Taking that web page down was one step in the right direction, however, it's still not over! As I stated earlier, the matter WILL NOT be fully resolved until he posts a public apology in this forum for his actions.

I did have a phone conversation with Van Hirtum yesterday. Admittedly, I was not in the best of moods and I did raise my voice. I tend to do that when someone steals from me! In that conversation Mr Van Hirtum stated it was his "Web Master" that had posted my photos to his web site and that he had nothing to do with it and had no knowledge of it.

Guess what? If certain images or text is shown on your web page, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE. Blaming your "Web Master" will not and does not relieve you of liability or responsibility.

End of the story? Not by a long shot...I haven't even begun!!!

I can't be convinced he had no knowledge of the pics or texts and no reasonable person(that is legalize :) ) would either. The Web Master, on his own, browsed around the web and decided to plagiarize someone else on his own?

I know you deserve a public apology and hope you get it.

I'm not a web designer or anything but i think that's a bunch of BS that the webmaster is to be blamed. A webmaster makes a site but a webmaster doesn't come up with the content, UNLESS the web master happens to also be a staff of your company that knows cues and what you sell.
There were descriptions of the Cue with Sold Prices. A web master would have to get this info from SOMEONE related to the company to be able to write it.

So i really do not buy the logic...

If i got into a cab, I NEED to tell the cab driver my destination otherwise he wouldn't know where to go to despite knowing how to drive and having the vehicle. Right now Len's logic is He got into a Cab, and he arrived somewhere without even realising HOW he got there AND he paid for the ride? Makes sense?

Full splice machine

We will have a full splice cutter available this year, its being produced now. We also offer a great bench top cue lathe with better features than others, this will be out later this year. Prices will be very competetive for the small shop.

Funny, Darren Hill uses a radial arm saw, a band saw, a belt sander and a router on his full splice cues. I think he's at the top end of the food chain.

full splice machine huh? so you can dump your wood, veneer and glue into it and it will produce a nice blank? sweet!!!! got any pictures of blanks you have made with it?

Easy now guys, he didn't say it came with an "easy button"... I think we should welcome innovation. Cue making is moving forward, like everything else, in technology, tools, and techniques. We're not exactly whittling pool cues with our pocketknives from a rocking chair on the front porch.

USOpenPlayer, welcome to the forum, and I can't wait to see your new machine.

When you get some in stock, id love to drive up and check them out. I find myself needing another lathe and a way to do fullsplice cues.

Hi,

I don't do full splice cues but I know how it's done from watching my friend Darrin Hill improve his procedure and jigs for the last 8 years since he started doing FS.

He uses a dedicated band saw for FS work only, custom angled jigs and uses special blades and makes his cuts with a very fine precision. Being able to fine tune and adjust a bandsaw is a skill set you have to get down for doing this work.

I just use my band saws for cutting off stuff in my shop. Everytime DH comes to my shop I always ask him to tweak my band saw set ups.

I always get a little leary when a member for 2 years finally has his first post and it's a sales pitch.....and saying that his will be better than the rest....

Talk is very.....VERY cheap. The BEST feature of a lathe is the makers knowledge and support. I can't even find you on the internet when I search Lannoo Products and Billiard Supplies.

What are your credentials?

I take it, you won't buy shafts from them yet.:D

I remember two infamous makers/suppliers here promising great lathes.
A decade later, none.
We're not even counting infamous Joe.
