Different people believe & would teach different 'fundamentals'.
IMHO...
There is no one fundamental stance nor how one gets into it. There are different approaches & they can be sound if one arrives in a solid on line alignment with the shot at hand.
I step into the stance. There are some younger guys at my local hall that plant their front foot & use that as there line stabilization method & then step back. They shoot very well. I'll have to ask if they were taught that by the same individual or did they pass it on from one to the other.

'Definitive' statements should be tempered.
Perhaps then there would be more harmony on AZB.
That said, until gravity changes, it still pulls in the direction that we call down. Some facts are fact & hence 'definitive'.
