3 speed on the column would make their heads explode. What would be equally as funny is to put them in a old farm truck with a 5 speed transmission with a 3 speed brownie ha ha

Told it before, butt:Drove manual transmission for years. My bil needed my truck so he left his vw van at my work. I couldn't figure out how to get that damn thing to reverse.
Hee hee you said buttTold it before, butt:
One of my first cars was a 69 mustang...wasn't particularly pretty or original.
I couldn't find 3/4th gears for about a week after I got it and then found out it was 1/2nd that I wasn't finding. I had only been using 3/4th and it was a whole different horse from that day on.
Doing 120 MPH and still looking for more.Told it before, butt:

push down, then right and pull back,(for those that don't know)....Drove manual transmission for years. My bil needed my truck so he left his vw van at my work. I couldn't figure out how to get that damn thing to reverse.
I remember the term "Slammin' 2nd" Lotsa fun!3 on the tree![]()
A friend of mine had a bug, I'm sure if you are used to it it's not bad, but the reverse lockout was tricky. And those goofy seatbelt latches were pretty tricky, too.push down, then right and pull back,(for those that don't know)....
Yeah I knew and still couldn't make it happen.push down, then right and pull back,(for those that don't know)....
Was a little tricky and took a bit of practice. you had to push down just right or you couldn't go right. Next to impossible for someone not used to it.Yeah I knew and still couldn't make it happen.
Especially if it was an older Chevy truck with a worn shift tube. I had a few of them over the years, and if you didn't develop the right "feel" for shifting from second to third it would jam and you would need to get out and pry the shift levers back into position where the steering column came through the firewall. Ah, the good old days. lol3 speed on the column would make their heads explode.
