Nobodyhas ever successfully split cottonwood. You know THIS MAN!This certainly beats the old log splitter I've got all to death , I have to wonder how it would work with damp cottonwood logs that are 3' - 4' across ha ha

So how does it break at that temp? It must just grenade all Willy nilly.But a person can do well once the outside temp drops down close to -40 below zero !
Any time above freezing it can be stringy and difficult to split since it's similar to a sponge for holding water & not drying out very well .
