Whether that's good enough to handle a player like Gabe is another question. IMO Gabe is one of the best One Pocket players alive today. Right there with Cliff, T-Rex, Alex, Jeremy and Scott. He might even be the favorite.
What it comes down to is who is in the best stroke right now. My pick is that if Gabe is playing his normal speed for the last two years, he is the slight favorite. Sylver has the game to make it close, but Gabe still moves a little more consistently, and can run balls better than anyone this side of Reyes.
I would take Gabe based on the premise he will make fewer errors and capitalize the most on his opponents mistakes. As far as pocketing balls, Sylver can fire them in from all angles, banks included. But that's not what wins One Pocket matches.
Final score: Gabe 8, Sylver 6.
I'm with you on this one Jay.
Gabe is one of my favorites, but there is something funny about this one and as you said, NOT IN THAT WAY.
Sylver is full of confidence right now and not easily scared away. He loves the challenge and loves to prove doubters wrong. These are great qualities for an aspiring player.
Ggabe though has been up and down the pike more than once and will know the BIG IMPORTT shots and so will Sylver after this weekend.
You gotta love "Heart" though.
