Went to Home Depot and bought two parts at the plumbing section.
I'll let the pic do most of the talking .
I made a delrin spacer that's inside to block dust going out to the entry hole of the drill.
This only works if you have a tail stock mounted drill as it uses the tool post to hold it.
I'll fab a tool post mounted plate to mount the sucker next.
With the right hole saw and hose clamp, this might not be too ghettoish anymore .
I do have a spare router mount I can probably use for it if I make an adapter for it .
Just need an 80MM Delrin rod .
Drilled a Koa piece today. The sucker actually worked really well in trapping the dust and chips.

I'm sharing this b/c I don't like hearing people getting sick b/c of dust.

Steal this one.

Or you can order the router holder from Tom Datum.
I just modified it some .
It's not so ghettoish now .

I did something along these lines a couple years ago, but still had stuff flying out thru the hole where the drill went thru. never pursued it further due to health issues,,,,not related...lol Have some coring to do soon, may look at this thing again. Thanks for posting this Joey.

Nice. Practical, should work well, and as you have already shown easy to upgrade and improve upon.

I just hold a small vaccum hose with an angle cut where the drill relief meets the hole.

Gets all the dust.

It's an old Indian Trick but I think it will work.

I really like the Joey dust collector idea.
Thanks Joey for posting.
Great idea for sure and like most great idea's, it is simple.
It could even be held in a steady rest block as well, then people like me could use the
carriage for drilling.

That would work. Great idea. My handle drill ( .883 ) is carriage mounted. So, is my .758 drill.
