Looking for feedback from anyone who has used a cue that had a glass epoxy pin, or the rc3 carbon fiber radial pin. How did it play, feel, is it possible to break with it, etc..... Thanks in advance for any info.

I currently play with a Cognoscenti which has the glass epoxy pin. It has a nice firm hit and definitely can be used for breaking. In fact, my crappy Flacon break cue is dying from having the joint pilot come out of the shaft, so I was breaking with my Cog tonight.
I really like the hit, but then again, I should be partial. I have not tried one of RC3's carbon pins.

How much weight difference is there between the g10 and a standard pin? The reason I am asking is I am having a cue made out of ebony, which is somewhat heavy, but still trying to keep the cue under 19 oz. Thanks.

I have 3 Diveneys and they all have glass pins. The J/B has 2, in fact. Like Cats, I am unsure if it is the pin that makes each play so much to my liking, but I like Pat's output so much that I sold ALL my other cues after I got my hands on one of his.

I have a friend that had a 4 point Ebony Forearm w/ ss joint and the g-10 pin (19 oz) made by Steve Klein. The cue played/Hit verrrrry good. My friend is still kicking himself in the a$$ for selling the cue

They are a deeper black, cleaner machined, and the threads under the alignment shoulder are much longer. Both work great. The real ones are almost double the price though...of course.

The radial pin is TM'd by uni-loc or whatever the parent company is.
There are some knock off's out there. I know kaiser uses a knock off radial.
The "real" radial won't match it.

The fake Radials that don't match are imports like used by Kaiser & 5280 I believe. There are others made here in the USA that fit fine. The fake one pictured works fine with my Radial tap and will accept any shaft tapped for a real Radial.

thanks for correcting me, how do you know you have a fake if it fits and it's SS instead of g10? I guess seeing the two side by side makes it easier.

Heres my custom Varney in the works. It will have a black G10 pin also. With the black G10 pin and ebony should make for a sweet looking cue.

Do you have a piece like this for my forearm?
Is there a difference between the black g-10 and the translucent g-10 I'm used to seeing? Just a different manafacturer?
