Good ball cleaner machine, but not to expensive?

I made one from a Home Depot bucket 2.99 , A 10' orbital buffer 39.00 and a piece of carpet wrapped around the rim. Works great !!

I went the bucket with carpet around the rim method. It works great and cost me about $50.00.
It's too bad pool is dead, a reasonably priced ball polisher would have sold really well.
The Diamond single platter polisher is $200 less, and the bucket homemade polishers don't stop the balls from hitting against each other leveling small collision marks all over them, nor do they rotate the balls while they're spinning for a 100% shin
I just read a medical journal, the doctors said they might have a new cure for "stupid"...but have given up on trying to cure "cheap"...LOL

My mistake, I googled the ball polisher and this was what came up.
Are you claiming BTW that the Diamond Ball polisher is $500 or $200 or less?
If it was $200 or less, it would be a good VALUE, at $500.00 I could buy new balls to play with they get "collision marks" all over them.
My balls don't seem to have "collision marks" all over them and the balls do rotate on their own, so for $450.00 less, I'll take it.
$700.00 for a ball polisher.....some people. There's just no justification for that, it's almost laughable. You'd think though that when trying to market such an overpriced item that the marketing would have to be strong...the video doesn't even work on the website.
If cheap is not wanting to pay 4-6 hundred for a polisher then I don't want the cure!

This is also my experience. The geometry of the five gallon bucket is perfect for ten balls on the perimiter and six in the center. I place a folded up heavy bath towel on top of the balls once I start the thing and it dampens the chatter as well as polishing from top and bottom. It also eliminates the need for a rheostat to control speed as full speed is perfect. I cannot imagine how balls can be cleaner and shinier than they are after ten minutes in there no matter how much you pay for a machine. Yes I'm sure the Diamond polisher is the cat's meow but I got my orbital buffer on sale and the bucket free so my total cost was about $20.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that dividers can be placed in the home made polisher.
Do tell us how they cured stupid

I built a bucket polisher and it lasted a long time. It lasted so long in fact that the buffer I put in burned out and it was no longer available . The design changed some, and wouldn't fit into my bucket as it was cut out. I was even too lazy to build another bucket polisher.
So ... I bought a galvanized low profile oil drain pan, glued carpet to the bottom and sides, threw the balls in, and simply held the polisher over the balls while shaking the oil drain pan.
One tip though, really gets the balls spinning in random directions. In your bucket, just above the polishing head, drop in a 9" or 12" paint roller. (depending on your bucket size)
Once you have your paint roller in there, mark and slit the sides of your bucket opposite the opening holes in the paint roller. Then slide a wooden yard stick in there and through the paint roller, and out the other side.
This will prevent the balls from merely going in circles. You should see a nice improvement.
p.s. Wouldn't it be nice if money were no object.

Speaking of Diamond and the video on they're website that doesnt work... they need a new website bad. I noticed that they dont even have samples of the dymondwood options that are available. I mean, evertime I look at that site it's worse... They don't even have a pic or info on that fancy legged table they were using as a TV table last year. How you gunna sell a table that you have no info for? So, I requested a catalog on the diamond pro and I received the same one that I was given over 5 years ago when I got my smart table. I mean man, the table they show you isnt even the one they make these days. Diamond...get your shit together! I love the tables , but come on.
Um....what about he corners being the same as the smart table now? pocket liner material? Since I got your attention...whats the cost of the single drum diamond ball polisher shipped? If you know...
Sometime right after the first of the year, still have to get down to TX and work on 21 Diamond 7fts, but have to first finish up a few things at the factory before I can take off. I'll have the Diamond 9ft Billiards table with me when I show up too.
