I heard that a lot the last 24 hours, Jay. However, let's not forget Whitney was an adult when she met Bobby and he certainly didn't grab her by the hair to force coke up her nose. She chose to date him, chose to party, chose to accept a $6000/week habit and chose to not get well. She was 48 --- so definitely an adult. Everything that she did, she chose. Let's not blame Bobby (even though he's a scumbag). Everything that happened to her, she did to herself.

Posting a tribute to a crack head in the main forum is going to draw a few comments. You knew what you were doing when you posted it.
Don't pass the blame onto someone because they take exception to it.

Most of us (myself included) aren't going to feel sorry for a person that probably spent more on blow (or spilt) in a month than what most of us can afford to use for grocery money to feed our families in one year.

The Stars, they get a pass because they are famous. Not in my house they don't.

I agree but it ain't quite that simple. He used her love for him to his advantage. Just like a pimp might do.

I enjoyed her talent every time I heard her sing, one of the most amazing voices ever. What a gift. For the npr nits, I'm sure I heard her once or twice while I was playing pool, probably helped my game and may help yours too. Thanks for your indulgences. And just to say...I probably listen to a bunch of other dopers and drunks when I'm playing pool too, I just don't really give a shit what they're using when they make music.
 
Cool. Would you send your kids for music lessons and reward them with a couple of grams when they get home?

Exactly, and we don't give a shit what they are using when they drop dead, so now you know how we feel. Move the BS to NPR. If anyone wants to read or know more about Whitney, they can just stand in line with the other ladies and buy a copy of People :)
