OK guys.... so my mother-in-law has bought me a table for christmas... She got me a 9 foot Connelly Del Mar. Ive played on a bunch of connelly tables before and really liked the way they played...I would liked a Diamond, but hey im not gonna complain about a free table!!! So the table has been ordered and she wants me to pick out all of the stuff I want to go with it so if Ive missed anything help me out... or if anybody has suggestions of different equip lmk... also she knew I wanted a ball return table but when she ordered it, but she was told that Connelly no longer put them on there tables... does any body know if this is true? and are there any aftermarket returns that anybody knows of? I was thinking of making one myself if I couldnt find anything

List of stuff:
Simonis 860 Tour. Blue
Delta 13 Rack
Aramith TV set w/ Measles CB
Case of Blue Diamond Chalk
Ball Cleaner (any suggestions?)
Table Cleaner (Chalk off??)

I would not use the chalk Off it makes your cloth wet. Try Quick Clean http://www.quick-clean.com/ it is a much better product. We have cleaned all the tables at the Expo, DCC and the US Open the past few years. David is working on ball cleaning stuff now. Good luck

add to list:

cue rack
house cues
Junior Shark Guiding Wheel (if kids or rank beginners will be playing)
brush
scoring string
light fixture
cover

Just clean your table every day- not really necessary to buy all that unimportant commercial cleaning stuff in my opinion- clean your balls each few days and clean your table each day- and your connelly will make you happy :)

Yeah ive met Dave a few times before... that had slipped my mind thanks

btw, a mother-in-law like that is a real treasure!

NO KIDDING!!!!

I wouldn't get the TV balls unless you're going to set up a camera and record.

Good point that way i can practice w/ the colors id see more in tournaments

All good advice so far.... anybody with any info on the ball return?

To save a little money you can get by without the ball cleaner, brush, hand vac, pool chairs, and the Simonis. Have a ball with the hot rack girls (bikinis and high heels are a must).

I'd be so happy with just the table and cloth I'd give my mother in law a big hug and a kiss. The other stuff I'd buy myself. Johnnyt

Diamond ball cleaner, if everything in the world worked as good as that thing does there wouldnt be wars.

I second that. Get a set of Cents. A measle ball and a ball to use as a break ball.

Delta rack or the Package deal from BigTruck. Package includes, the better rack, cue holder, cue lean and something else.

Mother in law has motives behind her purchase. It will keep you home instead of at the PH. Smart lady, lucky son in law and I am sure your wife takes after her mom.

Don't allow jump shots.

Vacuum the table occassionally to remove the chalk dust. Do not chalk your cue over the table.

The most important. The only thing allowed on the table are the balls, rack and bridge hand. No drinks, or lite cigs. Don't ever put a cover on it because then it will become a storage space.

Enjoy.

First of all, lucky you, I'm jealous... I have a house big enough for a table, more than enough disposable income to get me one, but my significant other just won't have it, so I have to drive to the poolhall and spend money there instead :(

Secondly, don't forget the most important: this poster and also this one on the wall :)

AMEN Brother! I made this clear with my lovely bride before the table was installed, and while she thinks this is a bit "silly" to be so unyielding about any other stuff on the table, she respects me enough to honor my wishes.

I've seen it time and time again in other homes. The cover goes on and the shi...er...stuff gets piled on. Might as well just haul the table off and put in shelves.

Now, I did break the rules once to pose our 5 wk old daughter for an adorable picture on the table. Hey, I'm human!

The most important thing you need is a good table mechanic to set it up. You can buy all the other stuff listed above, but if the table plays bad you will hate it
