Got My Used Table

very happy for you on the replacement table, Johnny.

and pt was right. a lot has changed in the rules over the last couple of months.

for example:

beating the table slate with a sledgehammer to the extent that either the cloth or slate become damaged more than 1/2 inch in length or depth is a foul and the incoming player is to get ball in hand.

enjoy!

best,
brian kc

Get back on the horse JohnnyT! Lol. Have your wife hide the sledge hammer now so you dont let your temper hurt your new table. Lol.

The table mechanic can't cover the table until the 12/18. I forgot these guys get slammed this time of year. I won't let anyone else around here cover it. He knows I like it on extra tight so when it's humid it still plays OK. Almost sorry now that I cut the cloth off at the guys garage to check the slate, but if I didn't, sure as hell there would be a problem with the slate. Johnnyt

Friend of mine knew of someone that wanted to get a 7' Valley Cougar out of his garage. I think it's a 1987. It's sturdy and the slate is good. The guy that owned it almost had the big one when I took out my blade and cut the cloth off to see the slate. My friend and his buddy delivered it for me and set it up. I gave them $300 and they tried to give it back. I ordered a new set on Ridgeback rails from Kerry and will have them by Monday I'm sure. I have to call my guy to re-cloth it tomorrow. I still have the set of Ridgebacks that makes all 6 pockets 4", but I think I'll start with the 4 1/2". Can't wait to run some balls. Johnnyt

I'll send the grass cutters over for a trim as soon as Spring comes around.

So wait...your health prevented you from swinging a cue stick but you were able to swing a sledgehammer. Man you must have one f$%king stroke when you're healthy! :scratchhead:

Good news a spot opened up to do my table tomorrow. Should be playing by 2pm. Life is good again. Johnnyt

Got it covered this am. Played for 2.5 hrs total today with no problems. Boy those 4" pockets are a lot smaller than they use to be. Can't wait until Monday for the new Ridgebacks for 4 1/2" opening. :o. Johnny

Johnny, didn't you make a post, a few months back saying that you gave up Pool, smashed your old table and used the broken pieces of slate in your yard?

In 1987 U-22 cushion came on the valley, measure the playing surface from nose to nose of cushion with the u
U-22 installed, install the ridgebackrails and measure it again...

Read up on valleys website
The info here has changed over the years, I can't find it but I had a hard copy of service bulliten where valley showed different cushion nose heights for different cushions but now they have somehow changed their mind... Odd
