Great article on the match from Derby City. I was there that night and it was incredible to watch. There were so many spectators in the Action Room that other players had to suspend their matches or go in search of another table.

Just read this Grantland on ESPN is a great look and slightly different take on Sporting Events. Bill Simmons who is behind Grantland on Espn is also involved in 30 on 30 ESPN shorts. 30 on 30 captures odd and forgotten stories and people in Sports. A 30 on 30 show might be a great boost for pool

One small nit to pick (and it's probably my fault), the Jack Cooney / James Walden match may have been a hundred games, but it was an 8-ahead one pocket set that lasted all week. It wasn't a race to a hundred.
The article was pretty kewl, if you ask me.

I'm happy there was a long article about pool in the mainstream. It was well written and detailed, although some of the details were incorrect. For example, in the recent Efren-Earl match, there not a straight pool event, but an 8 ball day. Also, in the Color of Money match, I don't think Efren was ever down by 20 or more racks- I think the maximum was 17 and certainly did not win 17 games in a row in that match.
I also think that some of the games could have been better explained for the average non-pool playing reader. However, it was overall a well written article with a decent amount of background info.
