Great Outs !!!

the table he was playing on was 7 foot valley with 4 3/4 pockets. I’m not talking about matchroom tournaments on 4 inch pockets.
Nope. They were 4 inch pockets on that table. I've watched a lot of matches from that tournament and the commentators mentioned that many, many times. The outlying tables were standard Valleys but the TV table had 4 inch pockets. Go back and look closely at the pockets and you will see the cushions extending into the pockets quite a bit. This was not just someone adding extra facings to the cushions - they were built special for this table.

Oops, sorry, I thought this was in the vein of great outs by us. I removed this one by me. If someone would like it posted back I can

I'll put it back in. It is a good out, if I do say so myself...lol

Here's one of me BNRing a tenball rack starting off with a kickshot after the break while playing against the late, great Amar Kang. He won the set, but I'm still proud of the runout. Especially considering that The streamer later states he doesn't think anyone has had a BNR on that table since it played so tough. I'm pretty sure that Amar had one in this set with me too. It was a diamond with 4" pockets.

A sweet out under pressure. Playing somebody like Amar takes another half inch off of pocket size!

Check out rack 14 of the 2022 World 10ball semifinal. Kaci's runout, that included a jump in, a kick in and a long bank is one you'd have bet the house against. Time stamp 1:41:00.

Not really a great out but high drama in the crucible - 1985.

Unfortunately facebook decided I am a bot. When a great snooker player is "on" they can do amazing things. Oddly enough it seems that they are only A players or midlevel pro on a nine foot pool table. Too different I suspect. Ronnie said it would take him five years to play top level pool if he focused on pool like when the IPT was alive. I think Ronnie was being generous, I would guess one to two years. Still funny, I would have thought the adjustment would be a matter of a few months but I think Ronnie was also talking about playing at the same level he plays snooker which was at the time best in the world. As we all know, Ronnie has a strong claim to GOAT with a cue.

An aside, but for a couple years I spent a few hours tuning on a snooker table before gambling nightly. Doing both at the same time did wonders for speed control and precision, especially when I started banking on the snooker table. Late teens and early twenties. Wish I still had those eyes!

I was at the IPT event in Orlando. The player that was most on fire was Marlon Manalo. It was a very interesting format of continuous round robins down to the last player, Efren. Efren then played Mike Sigel in the finals. I'm on that match sitting in the front row. hahah.

The reason Mike had a automatic spot in the finals is that he was considered the King of the Hill because he beat Loree Jon Jones in the inaugural event in Vegas. Actually I'm not sure what her last name was at that time because it's been through a few changes. lol.

It was a first class event where the players had a private hall with practice tables and food and drinks. Fans weren't supposed to go in there but I sneaked in a few times and hung out with JJ and Gabe. They had massage tables with masseuse's. They had a bank of massage chairs too. Players were treated like kings and queens.

And Trudeau was selling all his snake oil books and products which pretty much sold out. At that time everyone thought he was a savior. It felt like a big damn deal for pool.

But then after the dust settled the one guy involved that had high integrity was Dino Andrews, Dino was Kevin's #1 guy who ran the events. He's a good guy who just drank the kool-aid.
