Guns and Cues, Show us your Piece

All you guys are going to be in great shape when the Zombie Apocalypse happens.

Myself, I will have to settle for a cheap EBay Katana. Michon has the right idea. You don't have to put bullets in a Katana.

Cabellas actually sells a Zombie Killer shot gun and ammo. I never asked the guy to see it, but I was in a few weeks ago replacing a stolen hunting knife and was looking at the Wolverine style axes and machetes. I jokingly mentioned to the salesman that these would be great for Zombies and he said, don't joke, we carry a shot gun and ammo for that now.

Bad news! We've got a lot worse than zombies walking the streets right now. They call themselves gangsters and they are well armed. They come in all shapes and sizes and colors. Probably several hundred thousand in the cities of the U.S. alone. I live in Los Angeles and am very careful when I go out at night, even to the 7/11. The crazies come out at night and they aren't shy. That's the reality in 2014 so don't kid yourself.

Is it true finding .380 ACP ammo is hard? It used to be such a popular caliber for compact and back-up weapons.

Very true my shop spends a ton of money on guns, ammo, accessories, and they don't even offer it to us just keep saying no lol Same with 243 and any type of 22 ammo kind of weird

It had to do with one state not recognizing another state's CCW and the ruling was pretty clear...It's possible I'm mistaken but when I had read about it I remember being pretty stoked but was pissed because my Florida CCW wouldn't have to be recognized by CA because I'm a resident of CA...

I'll look it up when I get a chance and post a link to it...

Jaden

Edit: I have not been able to find the case I was referring to so I may be incorrect after all... I don't know though I will keep searching and let everyone know if I find it.

This is from the Florida laws I scanned it and will try to upload it. It is just meant to be an example of the law and how it can change so you need to be up on it. scan 2 is the next page after scan 1. The update was just from 2/2014. scan 3 is the update

Interesting topic and I support the 2nd! With that said, I'm curious how all you CHL (concealed handgun license) carry comfortably and keep from printing (showing the outline of the handgun through clothing) while playing?

I have an IWB (inside the waistband) holster and it doesn't matter if it's placed at 4, 6 or 8 o'clock (right handed) or even cross carry at 10 o'clock, there is no way to wear it while playing pool without obvious printing and/or the holster & weapon quickly becoming very restrictive and/or uncomfortable at times.
The other option might be pocket carry, ankle carry or simply place it in the pool case. I don't like the idea of placing the weapon in the pool case (or anything that is not directly connected to my person), as that could grow legs while I'm not looking and now my weapon is out in the wild, not good!

So my question is for you who carry while playing, (if you care to share) tell us how you conceal carry while playing to maintain comfort, concealment and eliminate any movement restrictions?

Dopc.

Pants with big pockets and pocket carry.... I carry a Ruger LC9 pocket carry while playing and it doesn't print or show. I don't think there is any way to IWB and not print while playing.

As for IWB in general I can't say enough about how good Crossbreed Holsters are! I use a Crossbreed for my EDC Glock 23, I can wear it all day, in and out of the car, walking, standing, bending down, and never know it's there. Worth every penny.....

Is this one of the ones he converted to double action? Did you have it customized and if you don't mind, what did the customization cost?

Yes its DA. I bought is as is, no other customization by me. I have never even put a round through it.......

.243 too? That sucks. I have a Sako Deluxe in .243 - it's very accurate, powerful, but you can shoot it for hours.

I guess ammo is like carpet and wallpaper, goes in and out of style. .380 acp used to be one of the most popular small gun calibers. Maybe Rsasputin ran out to find some ammo.

91% huh? How many of you out there were ever asked or surveyed about your thoughts about supporting stricter gun laws? I sure wasn't.

I was phone surveyed regarding the gun issues. After the Martin case there were a lot of groups doing number gathering. I get called a lot on this stuff. (Maybe because I still have a land line) Most people just hang up but if I have the time I will answer a survey. This issued was so hot I would bet the numbered surveyed was many time the number of most other issues. There were a lot of on line surveys as well.

Even among gun owners and NRA members it was really one sided for stronger regulations on ownership and buying. I can buy guns without a waiting period. Tomorrow I could go out and legally buy guns and take them out and resell them on the street to say gang bangers and make my self like 10 grand. I would need a lawyer to advise me but I don't think I would have broken any laws. Doesn't it seem there is something wrong there?

The .380 round lost some popularity due to the modern day sub compact guns, Chris. Years ago, if you wanted a sub, the popular options were .22, .25 and .380.

Nowadays, you have sub compacts that shoot 9mm and .40 in basically the same size gun but with much better ballistics and stopping power. I'm guessing that this had a lot to do with the lower interest in .380's.

Technically you couldn't do that it is against the law FYI

People who do this kind of thing don't really care much about the law. There is still nothing preventing someone from doing it. Legally buy guns for resale to bad guys. I think the only limit would may the number they were buying at any given time at any given store. I don't want to debate the feasibility of my example. My point was guns get from point A to point B so easily and legally it is a joke. I can't sell my junky utility trailer without some paper work being involved. But I can privately sell a gun to any nut case who has the money.

In California you can now buy only one gun a month!

This is my Ruger Bearcat, my favorite gun. This is the gun that I can hit a 3" target at 30' and I will bet even money on that all day long! I know many people laugh at little guns like this but to me it is a very deadly weapon, quite capable of killing someone. I give it full respect when it's in my hands. It's in my car all the time (legally!) and when I go hiking it's by my side. Somehow I feel just a little more comfortable knowing that I have it close.

P.S. Yes you can see the serial number. It's my gun legally purchased so I'm okay with that.

I agree that it is to easily done. I was just pointing out that you said you didn't think you would be breaking a law, But actually you would be.
