I would like to ask cue experts out there, Does any one know roughly how many cues did Gus build in his life time??? Thanks in advance.

No expert, but until one chimes in, I believe the number is around 1000, give or take a hundred or two.

Hi Peter,

For years I have heard "about 1100" for the total number of Gus Szamboti cues........

...........With each one special, and of the very highest quality in design, execution and playability.

I am pretty sure that Barry Szamboti knows fairly accurately how many his dad built since he has his dad's order books and records.

The old joke about Balabushka went that he built about 1000 cues in his lifetime and now there are 10,000 of them on the market.
 
Thanks a lot for the in puts guys... Mickey, I'm not trying to buy them all. May be a few.... I did buy 3 Gus in 3 weeks.... I'm broke now and have to wait until next year.... Bill, I know I am a good boy.... I already get my own Christmas present.....:)

well peter i guess it is a good thing you only have about 2 weeks till the new year...:thumbup:
 
I used to hang out in a pool room in Toms River NJ. The owner and Gus were good friends and Gus would come spend the evening there once in a awhile. One night Tony asked Gus how many cues he had made. Now this was in the mid 80's and I seem to remember that he said he had made between 1200 and 1500.
