Happy Birthday Danny D.

Happy Birthday Danny!!! A true legend in our sport..... And other sports as well.

I love Danny D. My late friend "Little Petey" Goldsmith used to travel with him on occasion down in Florida, and one time Danny put the bite on him for $500, which he promised to pay back the next day.

Yada yada yada after about six months of getting the stall, Petey found him in a parking lot and asked for the cash. And here was Danny D's reply:

"I CAN'T GIVE YOU THE MONEY. I AIN'T GOT NO MONEY. LOOK, I DON'T EVEN HAVE ANY POCKETS IN MY PANTS, SO HOW IN THE HELL CAN I BE CARRYING ANY MONEY???"

Somewhere Up There, or maybe Down There, the late Alfonso Bedoya was smiling.

Have a great birthday Danny D.
You are hard to shop for so I did not get you anything this year.

Happy Birthday Danny. I always shake his hand and personally thank him for teaching with Billy Incardona on Accustat One Pocket tapes and videos. Those guys dont have a clue how many people they have helped over the years.

Im not calling Danny a liar, but I have heard Danny say many times, he made the most money throwing a golf ball. Yep, I read the book, listened to him and giggle to myself if it is the truth.

How much money did he win doing that? Damn.

Happy birthday Danny…..my old friend

from his daughter
Most of you know I took on being my dads full-time caregiver in July of last year. Nothing was easy. There were really great days and others were the worst you can get. Long days and nights! I put my absolute all into taking care of him. About 2 months ago he was complaining about his stomach hurting. I really didn't pay much mind to it because he has always had stomach problems but I wanted him to get checked out. I couldn't get him up into the wheelchair so, I called the ambulance. He was fine but they recommended some physical therapy. He was not walking at all and could barely sit up. He will never walk again unfortunately. He's not the same and dementia doesn't just go away, it gets worse. He would do things that were very unsafe for him and unlike himself. He remembers a lot but he gets really confused and lost. I will not tell anyone what he has actually had to go through. I have made the hard decision to have him move to a memory care facility where he is monitored 24/7. It was not an easy decision at all. It is a really nice facility where I can see him all the time. I am just not equipped for what he needs. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers! Remember all the great memories you had with him or of him!"

What you've gone through and have done isn't fun nor is it pleasant I've dealt with the same with my dad it's a truly sad day when the realization that you can't give the help and support they need .

I'd like to think there's a special place for anyone who has gone the distance for a loved one and I'd like to think that you're dad like mine thanked you even if it wasn't with spoken words .

Happy Birthday! I get excited when Danny is in the booth for a match. He always has me laughing.
