While we all have our crosses to bear and some of them are quite heavy, I thought it might be nice to express some of the pool things we can be thankful for.

Last night just after midnight, I was giving up the nuts to a new competitor/friend/player whose speed I had not fully gauged and had lost two sets at $50 a set. Normally I don't give up weight to anyone playing nine ball but we were practicing and we were playing even up and I was rolling over him. He wanted to gamble if I would give him the eight ball and I asked him if he would like the 8 ball for fun and he said no. When we started playing the races to 9 with him getting the weight he was running over me. I guess he picked up a little speed for the cash. He was beating my brains in (it wasn't even close) and I couldn't understand why but was determined to get my money back, so I played one more set double or nothing found a way to win that one and at least broke even for the cash. It was the start of Happy Thanksgiving. :)

i wont get to spend Thanksgiving with my ill 87 year old mother. she lives with my aunt (her sister) and my aunt is an absolute complete total idiot. hypocrite is a better word. she's one of those that knows it all, is never wrong, always has to have her way, you cant reason with her, and the Lord Almighty blesses everything she says and does no matter how stupid and wrong she is.

my aunt has ticked me off so many times over the years, especially last Christmas, that i just dont visit much anymore. so this year i am not going out there to have Thanksgiving dinner with the rest of the aunts and uncles, including my 89 year old dad. just fed up with her.

so, Swanson or Hungry Man is making my Thanksgiving dinner. then going to enjoy some pumpkin pie with cool whip, a couple of cigars today, watch some football, play some pool, then watch the Colts tonight, and just try and relax and enjoy the day.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. especially to those men and women fighting over in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other places around the world.

You are being foolish and pigheaded yourself. I have buried most of my family that I cared about including parents and grandparents. Years from now you will look back on this and regret one old woman keeping you from many people you cared about.

Sorry to be blunt but I wanted to post this quickly to give you maximum time to change your mind and go eat some turkey with family.

I have the best wife in the world that doesn't mind that I gamble for thousands of dollars in poker games. I have the most wonderful 7 month old daughter that doesn't wake daddy up in the middle of the night and thinks I'm the funniest guy in the world. I have a great job that pays well and is very low stress. I also have the best family that anyone could ask for and I get to see my parents on a daily basis. I couldn't ask for any better life or to be more happy and I am thankful for all of it. I have gotten to know a lot of cool people through pool and sincerely enjoy the interaction with each of you on the forum. I would like to wish everyone on AZ Billiards a Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you here. It is an honor to learn from folks who have seen it all and know what it takes to be a great pool player. Thanks to each and everyone of you for all the knowledge you spill over to this forum. I have a great family as well and life is so good. DCP, you will regret not making it to see your family. Suck up your pride and be humble and go see your parents. You know they probably want you there.

thought about it alot, and am quite comfortable with my decision. i stop by out there every so often anyway, so its not really that big of a deal that i am not going out today.

look at it like this folks. if i would happen to turn the TV on to watch the football game before or after food time, i'd hear this from her:

"TURN THAT TV OFF, ITS THANKSGIVING, WE DONT WANNA WATCH THAT OLD FOOTBALL GAME!"

i've tolerated this idiot woman since saturday, July 9, 1994, and i am fed up with her...........
