Inaugural event?

Steve-

Has this event been held in years past or is this the first one?

Based on a full field, it looks like the payouts could be healthy. That would be good. The entry price will likely bring out the better players locally and regionally. We bangers will enjoy watching the true players battle.

Sounds like a great event. Good luck to all involved.

This is the first time they have run the event. If we get 96 players there should be $17,000 in money.

So far we have,
Mika Immonen
Oscar Dominguez
Ernesto Dominguez
Dave Hemmah
Corey Harper
Steve Leistikow
Ken Thomason
Morro Paez
Brendan Crockett
Louie Ulrich
Charlie Williams
Ben Pham
Manny Chau

and a lot more players are saying they are going to play. I will update this when I get more information.

No more updates as of now, I have talked to a lot of players that might come in to play. I should know more by the end of the week.

Yes they are going to be charging at the door. I am not dealing with that so as of right now I do not know what they are going to charge. I am handling the tournament, the owner is handling the rest of the room.

The doors will open at 10am and play will start at 11am.

We are going to do the draw on Thursday night.

We will be using 20 Gold Crowns with 860 Simonis. I will get back with the type of balls because we might have a sponsor. Either Brunswick Centennials or Aramith with the measle cue ball.

If you have any questions, feel free to send them to me.

No Green Fees?

Another generous contribution by Hardtimes management - kudos.

Will there be a Calcutta and can the player buy 1/2 after the draw?

Will there be an afternoon session and then an evening session to buy tickets for? How about a discount for the entire tourney for the sweaters?

Will there be more than hot dogs for dinner?:)

Do the fair lady players get a spot from the Champions?

As it says, no green fees. all money goes in to the tournament. If we get a full field there will be $17,000 in money.

There will be no calcutta, they are not legal in California.

There will be only one session a day. Play starts at 11am and the last matches off the day should start at 9pm. There should be a discounted 3 day pass.

They should have more than hot dogs for food, they bring in food for the big events.

Everyone plays even in this event, no spots. It is and open tournament.

There should be a few more announcements in the next few days. I have been talking to a lot of players that might come in for the tournament.

thanks,
Steve
