Has anyone ever heard of Barioni Cues?

Barioni Cues

I did send him an invite to come join us at The West Coast Cue Show but never got a reply. I know it's tough for cue makers to have cues available for display though. Would definitely like to see his work and get a feel for the way they hit. Always great to support local cue makers.

He claims to have the least deflecting shafts and the best hitting cues ever made. Here's his youtube channel. Tell me what you guys think

Sounds to me like Bob Meucci reincarnated.

dude you took the words right out of my mouth.....

I mean its one thing if say Barry or Tony or Kersenbrock (or anyone else of that calibur) would stand up and say some idiot things like that.....b/c logically it wouldn't be that far off the truth as its arguable at least.....with meucci or baroni? COME ON?

I really like how my cues hit....but I'm not going to say HEY MY CUES ARE THE BEST HITTING OF ALL TIME! lmfao.....its subjective so you only sound like a NIT saying stupid things like that.

I mean Harvey Martin made cues for what like 70 dam years? I've never hit with a Martin but I'd bet my life that they play better than meuccis and baronis combined....

Tho if he got burned like some said thats a shame, but if you come on here making statements like that I don't blame others for busting the mans chops.

just my 2C,

that video was retarted by the way...it was a feeble attempt to knock OB's shafts....

like a comment said on the site

"OB doesn't hide their construction"

then he goes on to say

"theres no need for the carbon fiber pad.....all it does is add weight, do you even make cues?"

really it adds weight? What a microgram?

please try again......

Grey Ghost- maybe your Grey because you’re old and can't see. But with age comes wisdom. Maybe your a ghost because your dead to the pool world or maybe because your game just stinks and is decrepit. Either way you have it all wrong. I am not here to bash on cue builders. I have played with many cues and while some look really cool and also well built, just do not play well. Ford and Chevrolet have also been building car for over 70 years butt they are constantly improving each year. Thousands of dollars in not millions are spent each year on research and testing to constantly improve the vehicles. You bash on Bob Meucci. Laugh it up! But your cue builders of yester year do not have the robot that he does. They do not do the testing that he does. Nor do they hold the record for the most pro's using their cues that he does. Now I am not a Meucci fan. I am not big on production cues, but I do give him his props for having a great taper on his shafts especially when most of the cue builders in that time era had a coke bottle taper. I don't agree with the long ferrules either. The weight in the first 8" of a shaft is so critical that even a micro gram as you stated in another post has a dramatic effect. Butt I guess if your not doing and testing or lab experiments you wouldn't know that. If you notice what Earl Strickland is playing with now then you can see how times have changed. A 23oz cue, 63" long. Ya I was getting laughed at 8 years ago for what is just now coming out. So laugh it up all you want because there is plenty on people out using my cues and also Bob Meucci's cues and I haven't heard of you winning any U.S. Open titles yet. It just might be your old technology cue that is holding you back.

Well that is because you have to have balls to say something like that and if you do, you better be able to back it up or you are really going to look like a fool. Especially if you broadcast it to the world. Go to my website. Read and listen to just a few of the testimonials posted. I don't see or hear anyone that plays with or has played with my cue say any different. They all say it has brought their game up. I will tell you why, It's because its a fact and my cue is the product of many years of experiments and testing. So instead of coming onto AZ and talking all your sh*t, Bet something. Take your best cue you can find and put it up against one of my cues. Well take it around and have a couple hundred pool players test them out in the pool halls and then well bring them back to test them with real testing equipment and see what the numbers say. Then you can pay me for the bet you lost and maybe if I am in a good mood I will sell you one of my cues after you beg a little.

Lol did you just seriously respond to a post from 10-31-2010? I hope your response time with your customers is...slightly better. Now...back to the Dragon thread.

No it was not. I really like their shafts. That video was made before OB was getting popular.

I do not remember ever bashing OB. And there are many people that I have talked to that if they could not afford one of my shafts or cues I recommended an OB. I very rarely will sale just a shaft."

They were not talking about it then when I recorded that video. That video was recorded over a year before it was posted. And OB does not say how long there Balsa Wood dowl is nor do they say how the dia. of the core. The specifics are not advertised.

You are so retarded! Do you make cues? If so I feel sorry for any one that uses them because you should know that the first 8" of the shaft is so critical. Especially where weight is concerned. A microgram will have an effect over a shaft that has a microgram less. But if you knew anything about cues you would know that. Instead of actually testing cues with testing equipment you spend your time bashing cuebuilders on AZ trying to make your self look important. Cue builders could just make the whole ferrule out of carbon fiber. It's strong, it's light. But how many do you see out there?

Lol!!

Ya I did. I know it sounds funny but my response to this was so slow because I do spend most of my time making or repairing cues and responding to my customers. Also playing in pool tournaments. This guy just really pissed me off as I was reading through some old posts. Take care.

Hmmmmmmmm........

Just my $0.02... I just did a quick search in the "For Sale" section here on AZ and see NO USED BARIONI cues for sale...

I see tons of Scruggs/Meucci/OB/Pierce/Dayton/Southwest/White that are all for sale as USED cues...and that's just pages one and two!

I want to point out that I've never shot with one of John's cues...and in fairness to both sides, I'm not saying John Barioni's cues are the bees knees...at least not yet...I haven't shot with one yet!

I just want to point out that John's been making cues for years and I can't find a used one for sale...that alone tells me that the owners don't want to get rid of them...unlike them wanting to get rid of some of their "well-respected" cuemakers cues at more often than not lately well below the price they paid for them...makes me go "hmmmmmm".

Just my $0.02,

Jason

Yup. Couldn't agree more. I'd say 75% of cues in the 'for sale' forum are for sale because they are turkeys.

When someone spels it retarted, you know there ignant anyways.

You sound angry... not a good way to come across to potential customers. JMO, of course, so take it with a grain of salt, if you will. Coming on this forum and getting into arguments will only cause you more frustration and anger because some posters won't let your attitude go unchecked.

IOW, you are setting yourself up for some flaming that you can't win. If you doubt me, just keep it up and you will learn the hard way. Not from me, but from many others who welcomes argumentative cuemakers to this forum.

hmmm

Could anyone imagine buying a cue from Barioni cues and heavens to betsy there was something you did not like, or a small defect or the wrong tip was installed, or you wanted to know why there was a delay, and then dealing with a guy like this to get it corrected. Yikes !!

Spag sauce in Michigan? That's not spag sauce -- that's ketchup! :D

-Sean <-- believes ya have to go to NY or Chicago to get real Italian food

You need to visit my house. I'll cook for you even Italian food if you like.
Trust the fat cook. :)

Out of over 200 plus cues sold world wide I have yet to hear of something wrong. Check my testimonials on my website. Need more, no problem, How many you want? Want to talk to some of the owners, no problem. I am by far not perfect. I do make mistakes as I am only human. But I more than triple check every step of the way to try and keep things like that from happening. Also I am not a production cue builder. I am not sending thousands of cues out a year. If some one had a problem I am easy to talk to and am willing to make sure my customers are happy. I have owned a Custom body shop for 14 years and a manufacturing business for about 5 years so I know a little about dealing with customers. How ever I dont respond well to a bunch of guys slamming me that have no clue what there talking about. But then again, what Hot Headed Italian does?

Well, that is a reasonable answer, too bad you didn't use more reason on your prior posts. I'm not one want to hide from voicing my opinions and I"m sure I pissed off a few AZ'ers over the last 2 years, but I'm not selling nothing. Folks want to be assured their cuemaker is a reasonable sort of chap. Lot of money being invested, and some folks are very particular.

Stay the course, sell your cues, be reasonable, and provide excellent customer service with the skills of a craftsman and you will do well.....

Waiting for the cue

Just to let everyone know. I have purchased one of John's cues and am currently waiting for it to be finished. I belive in new technology and was willing to try one. I will let everyone know when I get it how it plays.

did you get your cue? how does it play and how is deflection?

I've never played with one of Johns cues but can relate when it comes to sticking
up for yourself. To put it into perspective,if people who never bought ,played or
held one of Johns cues put him down or his product,I don't blame him for speaking
off the cuff.If I have strangers put me down,I would take it personally as well.
You can always control what you say about somebody, but cannot control how they might
respond.John has every right to speak his mind,as we all have that same privilege IMO.

It's not his product that people were putting down, it was his attitude and lack of humility coming on to this forum that rubbed people the wrong way. You're absolutely right, everyone has the right to defend themselves, but if you're a decent and humble person, I doubt you'll have to.
