Has Archer changed anyones mind?

Between the TAR podcasts and TAR 26 I think that JA has changed some minds around here. Some had him written off as a player and alot of people didn't give him a chance to beat SVB in TAR 26. I have seen him get bashed on here a number of time for on thing or another and I think he had a chance to explain a few things and admit where he thinks he has made mistakes. He was humble and a great sport during this weekends match and showed class when he won and when he lost. I think that says alot about a person.
So I was wondering if he has changed anyone mind about him over the past week.

Yes, he has changed my mind. I definitely thought he'd fallen a little from the pinnacle he'd once occupied, that he was much less of a threat to snap off a major title than in the past. His play on Day 3 of TAR 26 reached a level that I no longer believed him capable of and forced me to reassess how much magic is left in this great champion.

A week ago, I'd have dismissed him as probably incapable of scoring a win over Francisco in a long match, but I know that if he plays the way he did on Day 3 of TAR 26, Johnny's got a real chance.

Francisco is the favorite in TAR 27, but Johnny will make him earn it.

This is how I felt...I thought Johnny got domesticated.
...but Alex told me that Johnny has a gear, and when he hits it....
...you better keep him in his chair or you aint gonna win.

I guess he got some miles left in him.

Well the only thing I did not like about Johnny was his slow play and I did not really know his personality. However, since the podcast, I will always be pulling for him to win despite the slow play and if I ever needed to have a pro pool player sponsored, I would ask Johnny

I think for the most part anyone who openly attacks our pro-players here are only showing their Ass!!!! Johnny like the rest do not have anything to prove to anyone, they are where they because they were willing to make the necessary scarifces in life and they had the God given tallent to do what they.

I have and always will think Johnny is one of the great players of our time and I only wish him the best life has to offer.

Next time you guys are here in the Great Northwest, let me know I would love to have you and the players here again.

Respectfully

Johnny has shown some brilliant play in the last year. I wasn't surprised at all, but still would have made him a slight underdog against SVB. If I had to bet on the Busty match, I would probably take Johnny because I think the prevailing opinion will say he will be an underdog again. I rate it a tossup.

I throughly enjoyed Johnny's game this past weekend and look forward to more of the same coming this weekend. His slow play in the past was a little tedious, but i found his pace in the TAR to be just right. Much appreciated his openness during the podcast, and I wouldn't mind having a beer with him.

I am happy to hear that in some cases JA's performance changed some minds and happy that people have said such nice things about him. I am sure that he feels the same and I know that he has read this thread and he said what was being said was really nice and he is thankful.

These podcast are good because it is giving us a personality to go with the player. By far now, I would say Johnny is easily the most like able pro pool player personality I have seen on tar and I would like to see him on tar more often now. This is what the players have to learn! They have to make us want to watch them play on streams and its win win for everyone!

Not really... I've always been a quiet Johnny Archer fan, though now I feel more comfortable asking for an autograph and picture if I see him someplace. (I didn't want to approach him at Turning Stone back in Sept.)

I remember Valley Forge a few years back and had just watched Stalev dismantle Frankie Hernandez. Wasn't anything Frankie did wrong, Stalev just never missed. Next opponent for Stalev was Archer. I said to my buddy, Johnny doesn't have a chance the way Stalev was playing.
Kim Davenport was sitting there and gave me a dirty look. Didn't mean to offend, just seemed that Stalev was unstoppable.
Well....Johnny ripped Stalev a new one and I just sat there with my jaw on the floor.
This guy has been a consummate pro forever and someone to be admired. He is one of very few players that I NEVER count out and a really nice and humble guy to boot.
All very admirable qualities.
