we all love chasing this rainbow of balls across this green felt..got any stories about what pool has done to your life? what you have lost? what you have gained? ive heard alot of stories of like world of warcraft..( a video game) ruining peoples lives...and wives leaving...and what not...i just wanna know what has happened in your life because of this game we all love so much?

I still have my job, I still have my wife and kids, pool pays me more than I pay it so no pool has not ruined my life. LIFE IS GOOD!

I had a HELLUVA good life and it all went to SHIT because of pool.

My wife ran off with the pool boy. I NEVER really wanted to have that swimming pool.

I'm a grad student and instead of focusing on my research in my major... i spend a lot more time researching in pool. But to be honest, I try to research pool from more of a physics point of view to improve my game... But nevertheless... my life is definitely ruined.

It has not ruined my life , but I do wish I had done other things along with playing pool.
I still enjoy playing after 45 years but I missed out on too much time with my family chasing people to gamble with.
Once I quit gambling, the game actually became more fun for me.
I could play when and where I wanted to.
The bigger question should be "Has pool ruined your familys lives?"
That is , if they even care.

Exactamondo! I am 27 and started playing when I was 23 and got to a high level fast and got addicted to playing in tournaments anyday anytime there was one available. Taking down the big pots was the next high persay. I drug my wife through stuff that I didnt realize I was dragging her to. She just wanted to be around me so she came all the time. She also became a great pool player and finished top 9 in ladies and we finished top 8 out of 140+ teams at our Valley State championships this year.
I am lucky to have a loving companion like that but now that she is 6 months Pregnant I have allready changed my life to just play pool for fun and the occasional tournament. I am SUPER lucky that she stuck with me and got knee deep into my hobby with me! - now im just glad I have my own pool table at home with a lil shark on the way

Pool actually gave me life. I was fascinated by the game, the atmposphere and the characters the first time I ever set foor in a poolroom. Pool led to other forms of gambling which I was very successful at and never had to work a day in my life. Never having to BE somewhere at a certain time has made it all worthwhile to me. I wouldn't change a thing!

I'l be 65 in Oct. Play 3-4 hours every day, play all games and play em all pretty good. Favorite game and the best of all cue games: one-pocket.

Pool has taught me a bunch. I grew up in a pool hall, my dad owned a room. I played a lot until my early 20's. I love the game, but hate the lifestyle. After seeing so many great players who have nothing at all, I found out I wanted more for myself. It's funny saying this now, because, when I was 21 all I wanted was to play pool for a living.

Pool is great, lot of fun, but trying to figure out what to do
with all of these ****ing cues has ruined my life

Pool has not ruined my life.....

..but if I ever get a life.....it'll probably mess it up some....

I've actually heard someone once say with a straight face "pool has totally ruined my life". I felt like slapping them and I said "no, YOU ruined your life" and they look at me like I'm an idiot for saying that.

There are a lot of great pool players who didnt do anything with their lives except shoot pool. Now that they are older and in poor health, i see friends and family begging for money because most went broke. It's really sad to see some of the greats in this predicament but they chose it.

My past two girlfriends absolutely hated pool. The longer they dated me the worse they hated it. Of course during that time I played more and gambled more too. ;) My new girlfriend hasn't learned to hate it yet.
