Wow! You had obviously no idear what I was joking about but none the less; you seriouslyrics do not get a stove in ur rental? WHAT kind of Crack house are you renting brother ? I do know certain things with real estate vary from area to area but DAAAAAAMN! No stove, really? Justin, I am an investor and have my hands into a lot of different projects ( various industries ), but real estate is pretty much my main thing and I have never rented a unit without a stove, nor have I EVER EVEN HEARD of any place being rented without a stove ( and yes this even includes tons of shit hole section 8 rentals that are located in the ghetto of the ghetto ( yup right smack in the middle of all those riots yall seen on TV all those times lol lol ). JUST SAYING BRO!

Fred Astaire was a big Pool fan, I have a photo from 1968 in LA with him , Danny Dileberto, and Pete Margo.

David Steinbrenner avid Pool player and I think part owner in Amsterdam Billiards before he died.

Jerry Orbach from Law and Order and the actor ( do not know his name ) who played the Capt. in Top Gun. attended some Tournaments .

The best was our own Keith McCready aka Grady Seasons.

I can make a conversation (just so people do not get too nosy), but no longer on a public forum. I am trying to be really careful about what I post, so that I do not get bashed (and made fun of) as much.

I wonder if The Color of Money is still a popular movie today (to new viewers, that are not current fans of pool). It would be really cool if a really great remake could happen. I see that Hollywood is doing a lot of remakes, so why not The Color of Money? Or, maybe a sequel? I just want a really good pool movie (with decent acting, and a good story) to come out. I really liked Pool Hall Junkies, even though the pool parts looked very generic (it was a good movie other then that, and for the general public, I imagine it was a great movie). Christopher Walken made it great I think.
 
Celebrities came out in droves and dressed to the nines for the opening IPT event, which featured a match between Mike Sigel and Loree Jon Jones labeled "The Battle of the Sexes."
 
I think Jerry Orbach was the best celebrity pool player of them all. Better than Gleason ever was... better than anyone I can think of.

Jerry was a real student of the game and very knowledgeable. I'm not sure what his high run was but I think it was over 50. I'm thinking maybe in the 70's.
 
Paul Newman came to a few of our tournaments when he was preparing for his role in The Color of Money. I must admit that it was a little unnerving seeing him sitting in the stands watching us play.

Tom Cruise came to the U.S. Open prior to filming TCOM. The best celeb pool players begin and end with Fred Astaire and Walter Alston (former Dodger manager). They were both 100 ball runners. Leo Durocher was a good money player around New York even after he began playing in the major leagues. So was Jackie Gleason before he got big in show biz.

Jerry Orbach hung in the big New York pool halls before ever making it big as an actor. He was widely known as "Jerry the Actor" and liked to play cheap 9-Ball for five and ten a game. I played him in Guys and Dolls in the 60's at 50th and Broadway upstairs. He surprised me by showing up for the Peter Vitalie event in L.A. in 1987.

David Brenner and Paul Sorvino were avid pool players. as is Joe Rogan, who has a nice Diamond in his home. Mark Kendall from Great White is an excellent player as well. The little guy from Fantasy Island came to a pro event in L.A. back in 1986. Bo Belinsky and Dean Chance bet it up pretty big at Tropicana Bowl in L.A. in the 60's. Bo liked to play 100 a game 9-Ball, serious money back then. Ronnie Allen and Richie Florence tagged him pretty good!

A number of famous athletes are really into pool. The Rolling Stones hired David Howard to accompany them on tour and took a pool table with them in the early 90's. Mizerak hung with many of the big sports stars of his era.
 
I had a 4 hour+ encounter with Tony Stewart at the Derby one time. We bullshit about different things,side bet on matches,etc.

Even though we introduced ourselves,I didn't know who he was until I saw him on ESPN later that night when they were making a big deal out of him not being in Daytona for pre-season testing,because he was "at a pool tournament".

He was there with Shannon Daulton. Tommy D.
 
Paul Reubens has been doing a little more acting lately. He used to play a mean game of pocket pool back in the early 90's.
