Hello everyone

Looks a lot like the photo cyberrot linked to I think:

I'll admit to being far from very good at this lark PB.......but I just can't see the two photos being the same person. To me the nose on your Ariel Lin looks way bigger (in particular wider) and the eyes look rounder.

Note to self........must pay more attention to womens' faces in future :)

While it's highly possible that Tonya has another account here, and is posting under an assumed identity, isn't it also possible that he/she may suffer from multiple personality disorder?

Sufferers of this affliction are not always aware of what the other persona is up to, so I suggest every AZ'er check the history on your computer to see if you are Tonya Reyes (sometimes).

This a joke, btw, I am not assuming responsibility for the Tonya character. (At least I don't THINK so.)

For my 100th post I will simply state: I am NOT Tonya!

Speakers has spoken!

The wiki pic for Ariel and the profile pic for "Tonya" are from different angles which can skew the features of ones face.

Let's see if I can help you see things a little more clearly. I've found a larger pic of "Tonya" that should take away the angle affect.

Tonya's profile pic vs. the larger pic that I found. Here's the link to where I found the pic.

That is the same image with a slightly different crop. Can't get much more busted than that!

Good work.....not just a better picture but also, as Hu pointed out, the same one that Tonya used! Thanks.

Told you I wasn't very good at this face recognition thing........but can claim to be first to express suspicion, see post number 17

You're not ;)

Now can we let Tonya get back to her "studies" and let this turd dry up?

Totally busted here! Good sleuthing job UrackmIcrackm. It caused me to go back and read her long posts #23 and #62. I think "she" gives some clues as to who she really is there. I suspect our perp is someone from the Philippines, who wanted to remain anonymous on here, for whatever reason. The fake identity of Tonya was a means to send whatever messages they felt compelled to write and to whomever they chose to direct them, without fear of retribution. In some twisted way, I think they were trying to "clean up" the Az Forums. Nice try, no sale!

In the end, this is a tough bunch to put something over on. Collectively. too much brain power at work here.

For times like this when a lot of people take a post at face value and miss the keyword clues that a "fake" leaves behind, the back up plan is to look at someone's avatar. I saw the red flags in the posts but had more reservations when I saw the avatar. Not many people have professional photographs of themselves and the ones that do, rarely use them.

"Lora Ann" was slightly more believable and took longer to "catch" because while they did use professional photographs, their posts weren't over the top. They posted on topic and with knowledge of what they were talking about. Their mistake was switching avatar pics on a regular basis. People were tripping over themselves to tell "Lora" how pretty she was. She didn't play coy like our friend Tonya here, but she obliged subtlety by continuing to change her avatar. Each & every one of her avatars was a professional photograph. People started to catch on so they asked her to post a candid, non-professional photograph. She ignored all of those requests and shortly afterwards, she quit posting. I assume she left due to too many people catching on to her and requesting candid photo's.

Thinking that the avatar did look like the pic of Ariel Lin on the wiki page, I went in search of Ariel Lin photo's. LOL, all I can say is that "Tonya" would've been better off picking a model or a radom candid pic from Flickr. This Ariel woman is one of the hottest things going in Asia right now. There's thousands of pics of her and thousands of web hits when searching for her. Apparently she's an actress & semi-decent pop singer. From what I could gather, she is to Asians what Miley Cyrus is to America. Only I think Ariel has a broader, older audience than the tween's that are Miley fans.

For some it is. There's a few people on here that were overtly polite and flirtatious with someone that they thought was a genuine person. I would imagine that some of them might feel as if they've been made a fool of, and rightfully so. I don't think they're fools but I think feeling that way is a normal reaction of an incident like this. The foul is that nice, genuine, trusting people were duped by someone that ultimately isn't any of those things.

There are tons of anonymous people on here that are honest, genuine people. They participate on this forum with the intent of learning, sharing, and overall camaraderie. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Then there are those that come here with the intent of getting certain reactions from certain people. They tell lies, create a persona, and then sit back and pat themselves on the back for being so "brilliant". I think there's something wrong with that and anyone who does that sort of thing isn't a very nice person, IMO.

There's nothing wrong with being anonymous. It's how one chooses to behave while being anonymous that makes the difference.
