help support my go fund me campaign for pool instruction

If this idiot is actually in college, it provides good evidence that less college education is preferable.

His mom and professor, if they exist, deserve a face slap. The OP deserves castigation with feet applied to aid directional momentum.

Taking donations

I was thinking of hiring me some 450 lbs black woman to give this youngster a proper public spanking.

I am in 20 bucks and I don't think the woman should be under paid.

So dig deep brothers
And send your money to save a punk @ss white boy from himself ,com

Mike I'll be in for $40, but I want to see that on video. It needs to last a few minutes to make sure he gets what he deserves. If he enjoys it I guess it would be well spent money either way.

I also have serious doubts about your story and supposed professor. If true, your Sports Psychology professor should be trained in research ethics and methods. If this was truly intended to be an "experiment" as you state, it's methodologically poor, and, of course, not even an experiment. Moreover, it's completely unethical to involve people in research when they have no knowledge of that fact, barring extreme circumstances and formal protocols to provide debriefing after the fact. I sincerely hope that you don't have a professor who agreed that your little stunt here was in good taste. Psychologists (or any other social scientists) don't have carte blanche to screw with people for their own amusement under the guise of "research".

Dustin --> Also a Psychology professor, and one with a severe distaste for B.S. of this nature.

This stuff is priceless. First I would like to thank you all , in just 12 short hours you guys have single handedly given me all the material I need to ace not 1 but 2 of my courses this semester.

You see this was a little experiment given to me by my sports psychology professor after a nice long debate we had about billiards and how he claimed it's come a long way since sketchy pool halls and smokey dive bars . That billiards is making its way mainstream and that it's a new breed of people involved in the sport that care about the advancement of the sport and getting new people interested and involved for the health and growth of pool .

Now my argument was that pool is actually regressing back to the shady days of bar room hustling , strong arm guys , and selfish players that only care about themselves, and are afraid to get new blood interested and involved out of fear of teaching someone who potentially could become better than them . And as passionate as I am about the game and sport in general I am ashamed to say that's I'm right . We set up that little go fund me campaign , leaving the info fairly vague as not to influence people one way or another , just to see how the reaction was and the acceptance of it . And without digging into or asking questions people just immediately began bashing it , which is the response I expected , you see I could have easily been some kid that doesn't have much in life just trying scrape up money anyway I could to learn the game , that I seen being played at the bar my mom or dad spends our rent or utility money in . And I heard some guy in my area teaches it . But with the exception of one or 2 people that did question something nobody cared , they just bashed, saying stuff like quit being a bum , quit pan handling , get a job etc . Did I expect any money to be donated no , because as I said before nobody cares about the new guy learning to play cause he might become better than them and take that $20 a rack out of there pocket . Or knock them out of that d level tournament . And as of this post no money has been donated .

Now before every goes crying foul , If I had been proven wrong and the pool community was more generous than thought , any funds that had been donated were actually going to send a kid how has had it rough in life and is very deserving of it to pool school . And since everyone was so adamant about me getting a job and earning the money myself , I do have a job and I am putting up the hard earned money to send this kid .

And as a little side note this same little social experiment was done in different sports genres baseball, basketball, football even soccer and tennis and this is the only one that failed to pony up anything but rude comments and snide remarks :thumbup2:

Put me down for 20 as well....and I LOL'd so hard at this!

I gave you that 20 for wine
wine....the cheapest muscatel you can find, we can be the best under-the-bridge or passed out in the park winos on earth!!

ohh, you meant my wine colored simonis....hater!! :D

So the OP Justin Couch https://www.facebook.com/justin.couch.73is an Illinois state employee, whose salary for FTE 2015 can be find here:

The point to the OP is you have a job, you have play money as seen on your FB page. Why don't you give saving money for pool school the good ole "college try".:p

p.s. while your at it, educate yourself on how the coverup is always worse than the crime.

This entire thread made me LOL. Why wouldn't the money just be used to send the kid to Mark Wilson's class, instead of the OP going and giving this poor kid some shady second hand advice? Then the British spelling... LOL. If the OP is in Britain then I have a list of instructors that would give a kid down on his luck in life plenty of lessons for free.

I know parties in college aren't cheap, so you got to make a little extra cash. I get that. This didn't work but I applaud your balls if nothing else. There are a lot of rich old women out there looking for a nice young man to rock their world. That may be your best bet for making money in future. It doesn't require too much intelligence, which should be right up your street.

I think I would rather contribute to Z's cloth fund......
...green, blue, or camel.....anything but red...

'course, there's always Lou and JB....they got a few bucks freed up that they won't be
doing anything with.

Oh you didn't know? I was going to do a GOFUNDME to get the 20k up. I know for SURE I could depend on at least $60 from AZB.

I was going to title it, "Help me pay for pool instruction from Lou Figueroa" and explain that you only pass Lou's school if you beat him. I thought people would be sympathetic to my second attempt to do so.

Please stop with the made up nonsense. Even if this load of crap above was true your experience doesn't confirm "your side" of the argument. The members here actually gave you amazing advice without assuming anything about your actual situation. Not only did they point to you to free resources they explained a better path than taking an instructional course right away.

Pool has come a long way, your professor is right, but we can still spot a hustler easily enough.
