Help Support our Troops-Cue Donations

Since so many of us on this forum are active in the Wanted/For Sale board, I thought this would be a good way to give back to one of our members, and support our troops.

I have 4 new inexpensive cues that cost me about $50 each that I would like to donate to our troops. What I do not have is any family member stationed in Iraq that can put them to use.

So I am looking for members to help out this cause. If you have a family member stationed in Iraq that can see these put to good use, I would like to send you these 4 cues to forward.

For other members who, like myself, sell lower cost cues. I would like to inlist your support as well by asking you to make a cue donation to the cause also.

For this to work, I would ask one of our community to step up and be responsible for receiving the donated cues here in the states, and forwarding them to a base overseas where they can be put to good use. Those of us that want to donate would forward the cues to you.

I Think it would be great if we could put together a dozen or so cues.

Hope to here from some of you soon. Thanks

I'm in Baghdad right now, but unfortunately (well not really lol) I leave in a few days. Otherwise I could have been your liason to distribute some cues. I'm sure there's plenty of members of this forum with family/friends overseas. I bet with the amount of people who visit this forum there's probably at least one other person on here overseas right now.

This is a very good idea my friend.

I am here at Camp Eggers, Afghanistan where I work. Pool, believe it or not is very active on this camp. It is a small camp but we have two decent 9 foot tables and a monthly eight ball tournament. I myself have my own cue and everything.

There are mostly bangers here though, there are only a few people that come to mind who are really trying to learn the game. There is a little guy from India who works at the AAFES store, he is VERY interested in the game I teach him little things all the time. He is so grateful for it. Last month's tournament him and I were playing and I got frisky and put the eight in the wrong pocket. You should have seen how excited this kid was that he won over me!! LOL it was cool.

Again this is very honorable of you to do such a thing.

I can help with the gathering up of the cues and the shipping. I would want someone else to provide the soldier and the address to send them to. I also have a couple I could donate to this cause. Support the troops.

I would be glad to help with the cost of shipping these cues. Just let me know.

I don't have any two-piece cues that I never use but I'm in to help with the shipping cost also. Whoever is the one that is doing the shipping PM me your PayPal and I will spring for $100. Johnnyt

I figured I spent about 9 of my last 16 years not in the good ole USA.
Sometimes it wasn't so bad, like living in Japan for 5 years was OK.
Living in Bahrain, well, it wasn't bad, but after awhile feeling more distant from my family, well, I think that is bad. Being away and having my dad die about 4 weeks ago and me not able to make it in time for the funeral, well, I feel really bad about that.

I'm glad to finally be back in the US though.

I'm happy to see you guys out there that care and are willing to help the military men and women.
