Here's a cue that I put together using a half splice blank with ebony points and ebony butt sleeve. I've bought some ivory sub joint and butt ivory ring that looks great from cue component. Also installed a very nice ringtail lizard wrap that complement the veneers and color of this satin finish cue.

Duc, you are risking life & limb making the Hoppe ring that big.:D

Sorry Mate, I just can't help it... Did you ask permission from 1pRoscoe on that oversized Hoppe? :D

Indeed, that's in direct violation of proper hoppe ring etiquette. Are you going to stay with the satin finish?

LOL...I build my cue my way...I don't need to follow any guideline. I think the thick ivory sub ring works well for this cue. It's took me a while to finally find the taper I really like on my butt and shaft. My next steps is making ring billet that would and could have made this cue much better looking...but my main concern is on playability right now. I don't have a finishing system in the shop but I'm happy with the outcome of the satin finish....it just feel nice in the hand.

I'm working on a custom shaft on this cue...it's a really nice curly maple dowel that is now near 3-4 pass before final cut. Here's a pic of the shaft:

Now Duc, you told me you were dabbling here and there man, but you never said you were doing stuff like this! LOL! Really, really nice cue man! You know I want that blank now right?:p
