I bot some books from Maurice/HOB Weert.

That's not unusual.

I contacted him, offered to use P/pal. He hadn't used his p/pal for a while, and it was going to take a while to reactivate.

I asked for an address to send other form of payment.

Instead, he sends me the books.

Later, the p/pal issues resolves..I sent him payment....2 days after I receive the books.

Old fashioned trust. I appreciated that. We don't get to see that much anymore. (Granted-not huge money involved)...but the bigger issue...trusting someone from half way around the world...rare today, and worthy of sharing with the AZ community.

If AZ ever creates a seller equivalent to the GAL-good action list...this man is on it.

Maurice is indeed a good guy who has done his share to help pool progress.

I remember Marcus (FastNloose) sending me a cue in the $2000 region before he got the money.
We had done one or two deals before, but still it made me feel good about Marcus and my rep.

It is heartening to see such nice news over an az transaction.

There is a rather small segment of our community with whom I would ever consider doing something like this with. As it happens, the op of this thread, 3railkick, would be way up high on that list.

And now I know of another who I could trust similarly. :thumbup:

You gotta trust a guy with a username like 3RAILKICK.
If your name was FULLTABLEJUMPSHOT HOB may of been a little more cautious.
Seriously, this a good thread, and I would trust both of you in the same fashion.
 
3railkick is a friend and someone I would trust with my ATM card and code.
I can't say that about to many people I know.

Great thread WILL, I started one for a transaction I did a month ago as well. It went just as smooth, It's nice to know some people still have integrity.
 
Good news to hear for a change. It's a shame that this kind of thing is a thing of the past for the most part.

Hob is a good guy altho he hasn't been around as much lately.

Still a few good guys out there that will renew your faith in Human nature and honesty.

thats true, for the most part people are honest. years ago a guy i knew at a pool room was a DEA agent undercover, this was back in the 80's the coke days. He told me what he was and what he was doing. I really didnt want to know that, So I asked him why did he tell me this?

He said "First off I know you aint tied up in the dope biz, or use" that was true. Second he said "Kid you seem like a smart guy", i never fought of myself like that, it was kinda weird to hear. he said the lesion for you today and the rest of your life is:

"Trust people until they give you a reason not to, but dont be a sucker either" he continued "If you do that you will get burned a few times but more often than not you will come out all the better in life". He said "you could harm my career real bad, i trust you won't, because what I taught you is worth a lot and you have no reason to harm me".


I took that advice and VERY reluctantly tested it and he was right, i wish i could thank him. I dont know if I ever really knew his name. I dont know who got busted if anyone, he wasnt looking for street dealers he was working on a big bust he told me. I kept my mouth shut, and to his credit I probably wouldnt have done as well as I have if he didnt give me that advice almost 30 years ago.

I have been burned in the pool world, and if i named names people would be very surprised its not the bad guys who i have got the worst from, but in all these years its less than 10-15 times in 1000's of bets/deals/transactions.

If my numbers are wrong thats ok, i'm still doing well and will never forget that advice.

I wanted to purchase a very nice Richard Black from a gentleman on AZ but did not have the funds. So I PMed him and said that I would purchase the cue if he could accept 50% payment and the remaining 50% in 2 weeks. He agreed and I sent him the first payment. THREE DAYS LATER THE CUE ARRIVES AT MY DOOR! I was not expecting my cue to be in my hands until 3 weeks...not 3 days. And this was right much money. Anyway I will never forget the trust he had in me. We had NEVER done a transaction before...So, my hats off to you MR. BOB FARR !!!

You trusted him by sending half the funds, he did the same by shipping the cue early. This is how real MEN/WOMEN do business. :thumbup:

I love to read a story like this instead hearing about someone getting ripped off! He sounds like a man I'd do business with in a heart beat. Great story and thanks for sharing.
