Once again, this was and is the only World 14.1 Championships, with or without WPA sanctioning.

Thorsten Hohmann is once again the World 14.1 Champion and Mike Davis the World Champion Runner-up. Alex Pagulayan and Charlie Williams tie for 3rd. History will long remember that.

To all the good pool players, fans, and well meaning aficionados out there reading and joining in on this post, there are people on here trying to detract from this fact with their own political/financial reasons and alliances happening behind the scenes, which I know much about but don't care to get into. That is life sometimes right? Here in the pool world that reflects the world at large.

It's just that the truth needed to be stated and I was willing to do it. Thanks for all who see that and show their support.

Thank you also to Best Billiards LV, and the local vegas guys who helped sponsor me into the event. Thanks to Dr. Micheal Fedak and all the sponsors for making the event possible and for Charlie Williams and Cindy Lee for making it happen. Also thanks to JR Calvert and Alvin Nelson for doing a great job with the streaming production.

Thank you Mike Howerton, for posting my letter in the azbilliards headlines. That was really cool.

To all, all my best,

Max Eberle

I wish you could have just congratulated Thorsten on his win and awesome play in the tournament, rather than trying to continue your "world championship" campaign... As we all know, including the promotors of the tournament themselves, this was NOT a "World Championship" event, period. You can continue wishing it were so, but that will not make it a reality.

However, it was an outstanding tournament, Thorsten deserved to win, and many thanks go out to Charlie Williams, Dragon Promotions, and all of the sponsors for a really terrific event! I too, hope that the requirements for WPA "World Championship" sanctioning can be met next year, so that a true 14.1 World Champion can be crowned in 2012.

Link to details around the controversey if you haven't already heard about it.

I did congratulate Thorsten in person Mr Hoppe, is that Willie btw?

Actually I'm not wishing. You are the one wishing... For questionable reasons to unsuccessfully take away from what is not yours while the real players are out there making history.

I watched the stream all 4 days and have to say I really enjoyed most matches and commentary. The Thorston v Alex was especially good. Also have to admit that I gave up on the finals, just can't do the late night thing anymore, bummer.

Thanks to everyone that put on the event.

Wow, that was no fluke. The three highest runs were all by Thorsten 124, 126 and an unfinished 132.

Hope you're doing well Max and looking forward to seeing you soon.

Thanks for the great streaming

It was a great tournament. And thanks to Mr JR Calvert and Upstate Al for the great Streaming.

Max...How did you finish this year? I was happy to see that you found sponsorship that allowed you to go. I remember last year, when Black-Balled and I spearheaded the effort to get you to NJ, with the generousity of many AzBr's! Best of luck with your upcoming events!

AtLarge...I thought I read that and had just about posted it, before I had read the whole thread. I didn't see any of the stream, and Tate listed three lower runs, which I thought were good, so I went back and changed the 141 I had to 132. Thanks for the correction.

The 132 and out was on Thursday. On Friday, Hohmann topped that -- 142 against Pagulayan in a semi-final match. The run ended with a missed kick/combination shot.

So, can we call him an "International Champion" without needing Congressional approval? Perhaps the Pope can chime in and clear things up. Or should we just get this on the UN calendar?
