That's right. He is moving to Houston. I talked to Rodney the other day and I am sad to see him go, but I am happy for him. He said that he will still try to go to the Florida Tour stops since they pay well. BTW. if anybody is looking to buy a Diamond table (IPT), he is selling the one he bought off of KT. It is still at Capone's. Let me know if anybody is interested.

Lucky you. In top form, Rodney is definitely one of the elite 9-ballers in the world.

I happened to be speaking to a road warrior at DCC this year; and he was talking about the areas in the country where the strongest players were. He thought Houston and Indianapolis had more good players than anywhere in the country (he didn't know I was from Indy). What do you think? I believe he was talking about non-professionals; but I was intrigued nevertheless.

Houston Definitely has a tough field of players. I went and I seemed like a banger that plays like their local weekly donator to the tournies. I'm a banger here too but seemed really bad when arriving in Houston. Of course no one is of Rodney's caliber but there are a few that aren't too far away.

rodney is a monster player and a helluva good guy.houston will love having him there.and by the way if anybody from overseas wants to play him like 30ahead on a tough table ,believe me they better bring a lunchbox because there going to have a tough time getting the money.
 
Rodney will be welcomed with open arms here in Houston. Now we've got Hillbilly, Double J, and the Rocket. I think the Fast Eddie's tour events just got a little harder.;)
 
why the move

Any reason for the move? FL seems to be a mecca for good pool and tours. I remember Rocket from his Hawaiian Brain days. I used to valet his purple M3 when he used to hit the clubs at Resturant Row back in the day. Cool guy and I wish him Aloha on his move to TX.

LOL! He showed me the pics of his M3. Nice stereo system. The reason for the move is to be closer to his wife's family. Since they are always traveling over there and Hawaii it just made sense to the both of them to move to one of there home town.

Yea, it's extreme inside english (for those who don't know). Either center inside or low inside, haven't found a shot where high inside can bring you around the table like that, I tried a bunch of angles and it kept shortening up. This shot is near impossible on slow cloth. You need fast cloth that slides alot, so the first rail doesn't grab much of the inside off the ball, and that the spin carries alll the way across the table to the 2nd rail without wearing off.
 
Yeah, he said low inside. It try it and the ball does grab too much and I scratch right in the sid pocket. And when I don't scratch there, I do on the far corner. Like you said, the cloth needs to be fast. The FL PRO TOUR stop at my pool hall is on April 14th and the owner puts new cloth on a couple weeks before then. I'll try it then.
 
I wish Rodney and his family all the best in Houston.

I posted that clip on you tube. Rodney can play that shot every time. I dont know many players who can do that once let alone ten times out of ten.

30 ahead???? I don't think I would live long enough to play Stevie Wonder 30 ahead.

I agree though, Rodney is a monster.

First few times I tried the shot, I wasn't putting enough side. Don't be afraid to get your tip to the farthest you can off center without miscueing. I've never played it with a 314 or any of those low-deflection shafts. With a normal shaft, you have to aim extremely thick on the OB. This shot favors the thick side or the middle of the pocket. Hitting it thin and still making the ball, usually you will scratch or go back and forth across table like you said.
