Can anyone tell me how sniper tips hit? How do they compare to Moori's? Thanks

Sniper vs Moori
Sniper make a decent tip...but not even close to Moori. If the Moori is a 10 the Sniper would be 7.5.
Specifically:
1. Tigers mushroom much more. Moori-Medium worst case trim once more after installation (this depends on how anal you are). Sniper at least 2 to 3 times.
2. Sniper has much longer break in period.
3. Sniper gets really hard at end life span...Moori much more consistent.
4. Moori will hold chalk better and miscues less.
5. Tiger will play different once sanded (very grippy. I think due to fresh exposed glue lines) than after a couple of hours. Moori not so much so.
6. The Moori you can play at full hight and as such get more life from...Tiger almost never. Everybody I now how uses them knocks off at least a 1/3 from the top.
7. Moori never de-lamb. Sniper requires greater care installing them and even sometimes not is not enough.

I'd have to agree with Nick, I know quite a few who like them though, I tried them, just not my cup of tea.
That Moori on the other hand, I can do all kinds of things with that little devil.

I personally prefer the Sniper to the Moori. I had a spell where I ruined 5 or 6 Moori tips inside of a couple of months and then went to a Hercules, which seemed to be more durable but I miscued more. The Sniper has worked out to be my tip of choice due to the "traction" that I get upon contact with the cueball. I would go to a different tip for breaking though.
The only way that you are going to know for sure is through trial and error of your own. Everyone is going to "feel" the ball a little different and will have their own preferences.

Perhaps you have had installation related issues. Many self proclaimed experts do not have a proper installation method/technique which actually causes all the aforementioned issues. We install at least 50 Snipers a day with 0 issues. Give Tony a call at 818-238-9906 and he can walk you through a proper installation. Afterwards, if the intructions are followed, you or anyone else will never have a problem again!
Sniper Tips manufactured by Tiger are the best playing cue tips in the world! Guaranteed!

I think Sniper is the best tip ever made for all around play. I would say they are comparable to a Moori medium in terms of feel but they grip the ball really well and are less prone to miscue.
You might have to give it a little time to get used to a Sniper because the extra grip means a little more action on the cueball. They have to be installed properly. I just have Tiger do mine.
I gave up on Moori's because they were inconsistent. I was playing with a hardened Elkmaster but I got tired of the maintainence and constantly changing tips. Snipers last a long, long time and maintain their shape, grip, and consistency. What more could you want?

Sniper beats out Morri by ten fold. I am the Masse Champion of the world and owe some thanks Tiger Products. I use Tiger tips both the Everest and the Sniper. I can testify that Morri will collapse under the abuse that I give a tip and Sniper won't this is a fact. In fact in my experience Everest will even last longer than a Sniper. I'll give you an example if I get stuck useing a Morri a must replace it within a week if I get to use a Sniper I can count on it being good for about 2 months but, if I use a Everest it, might last up to six or seven months. Sniper all the way. Someone in another thread said after you install a sniper tip and shape it, he turns the cue upside down, tip to the floor, holds it 6 to 8 inches off the ground, and drops it on the tip about 200 times, re-shape and your ready to shoot, no brake-in time. I tried it and it worked. Great tip & great idea.

If you like a medium hit you may also want to try Tiger's Dynamite. I use this as an alternative to my moori, but I also play more one pocket, than nine ball. I choose a lot of tips by the sound they produce, I just like that comfortable thump sound.
eh, i normally go for a nice solid hit... but i'm not playing much pool anymore either.
Man, I would kill to have more people play one pocket or straight pool. I love the aspects of all billiard games and it seems like everyone wants to play what they see on tv.

I too am a Sniper fan. I was having issues in the beginning but after contacting Tiger to learn how to install correctly. No more issues. I have Moori's that I will never sell due to my recommendation of Snipers. Every cue I put the tip on the owners only complaint is that it grabs to much. After a couple of weeks...no more complaints because there use to it.
I've had the same sniper on my cue for 3 months and all I've ever had to do is scuff it once in a while. I don't thing it will ever mushroom.

I miscue less with the Sniper than with a Moori, and that's why I made the change. But the Sniper has a distinct <tic> sound when you hit with it. The Moori has more of a <thump> sound that most tips make.
The sound IS definitely different with the Sniper.

I don't want to start a a new thread, but does anyone else feel that the Sniper is a bit too soft for their liking?
If people like Morri, as do I, I just can't justify a 40 dollars professionally installed for a medium that may last only a four or five months, when I can get a Sniper or Hercules for professionally installed for 15 for the Sniper, and 20 for the Hercules, installed by a pro.
