How do you make this shot

What he said ^^^^^^

I beat a guy out $200 on that same shot about 3 weeks ago....lol

He landed on the 6 with side spin, hence the cueball direction after landing. He should have had LOW english on it, and drawn it back several inches. Not a bad hit, but a good start in the right direction.

Hitting the hoist jump draw is a delicate thing, and is best done with 100's or 1000's of misses under your belt.

Bottom line, don't be afraid to miss it, but be sure to learn from each miss, then you can hit it with an elegant simplicity like he does.

Great shot, thanks for sharing.

Standard object ball jump. (The side spin was unintentional and unnecessary).

An object ball jump uses the same principal as a standard jump shot, but in this case, the cue ball makes contact as would the tip on the object ball if performing a standard jump shot.

I have no idea what Darren Walding was talking about with using draw or whatever...

huh. I was going to say start with a ritualistic sacrifice to some dark pool god of times long gone :grin-devilish:

I saw what it was after they showed from the other angle....but the first angle, at actual speed.....looked like magic to me LOL

my buddy made it on me last night, I about shat myself. It's sort of a lost art. When you just barely need to clear the edge of a ball, it's a lot easier. Can't hit it scared.

Thats what I was thinking, but it looked like a lot of spin. Maybe he was thinking masse or something.

I think the other poster was talking about draw to leave a shot on the 7, rather than running into it.

I can't do this...at least not on purpose! I don't think I've ever seen anyone try this in a tournament setting. I saw a kid in do it in Beaumont, TX about 25 years ago in a 9 Ball match for a couple of thousand....several times. He was also adept at jumping off the rail to clear walls of balls after a lock up safety. When he jumped (with his Meucci player), you couldn't see the CB leave the surface of the table with naked eye. It appeared to go THROUGH the interfering ball. But since him, I've rarely seen anyone try it when something's on the line. Very strong!

I saw SVB try that shot in a match against Rob Saez. He almost killed two players on the adjacent table when balls rocketed off the table at a high velocity. Not as easy as it looks apparently.

Ok, so i'm pretty much as much of an amateur as you'll find regarding pool, but wouldn't it be much simpler to hit a combination shot there? That said, very impressive and something I wouldn't even think to try.

Chris...That is a superstrong trick shot! How many times did you clip the edge of the rack around the OB, before you made it? I'm guessing more than a few! Great shot!

More than one! Believe it or not I made it on the 10th try. I made the combo the shot before that one but only 1 ball went in so I kept at it. I was lucky to do it at all, but I was also practicing my jumps quite a bit back then so I new I could do it....eventually!

Now I practice position so I don't have to do that! But it still comes in handy when you get out of line. If I had been the guy that did this in competition I would have went for the combo.

Thanks for the kind words Scott.
